Imagine seeing British people at prayer and thinking “this is a great chance to stoke fear, hatred and division”. People who do that should have no place in British politics.
Freedom to worship is a fundamental British value – one the Conservative Party used to believe in.

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

Today in a sleepy, small sweet village in Cornwall, where everyone wears their Sunday best to go to church, the locals crochet little toppers for the post boxes and the trees, little community centres, pubs and churches, nobody locks their doors, the neighbours all look out for each other...
Now home to large groups of lone men.
I wonder how this will turn out.

@KingBobIIV I live in a rural village. We had a lot of Ukrainians settlers a few years ago. Good people. Work & integrate etc. We have large HMO’s nearby and the not so good people congregate outside the local shops leering at young school girls. Awful

@KingBobIIV I wonder how long it will take for voting patterns to change in places like Cornwall and Devon when they start getting the same level of enrichment the rest of us have been lucky enough to experience.

A man has been jailed for 20 years plus five years on extended licence after being found guilty of 18 sexual offences against four teenage girls in south Liverpool.
Celal Arslan, 52, of Ditton Drive, in Halewood, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today (Friday 20 March) when he was sentenced after been found guilty of the offences following a trial.
He was jailed for the following:
15 counts of sexual assault
Two counts of attempted rape
Rape
He will also be required to register as a Sex Offender for life.
