A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27: “It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young. At 26, I thought I had time… To fall in love. Start a family. Grow old. But cancer doesn’t care about plans. Now, I understand how fragile life really is. Every single day is a gift, not a guarantee. I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing to remind you: really live. Stop stressing over little things. Be kind to your body- move it, nourish it, stop criticizing it. One day you’ll wish you had appreciated it. Go outside. Look at the sky. Feel the sun. Just be. Spend less time chasing “stuff” - more time making memories. Don’t skip moments with people you love. Laugh more. Write a note. Tell someone you love them. Complain less. Give more. Helping others brings more joy than anything you can buy. Be present. Put your phone down. Show up - really show up. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect body, or a perfect life. Just follow what makes your heart light up. Say no to what drains you. Make changes when you need to. And please - donate blood. I wouldn’t have had that extra year without it. And that year gave me memories I’ll hold close… forever. Thank you for reading this. Live your life well. And maybe… we’ll meet again someday.” Holly 🩷 Repost & share Holly’s important advice. ❤️

The washing machine has gone on the blink. Rob's organised a repair but changed it from morning to afternoon as he 'meetings' in town tomorrow morning. This must be a high powered meeting with either his employer or as a self employed clients....

Can we have a big push of shares for Luna? She is still available Luna is a 5 year old female Daniff. She is available and would be suitable to someone who is around all of the time. Luna has seperation anxiety and this was brought on from a phantom pregnancy she had before. She much prefers human company all of the time. Luna is chipped and healthy with no medical issues. She eats a mix of wet and dry food. Luna absolutely loves travelling in the car with her head out the window. She is good on the lead and can get excited when she sees another dog. Luna is great with other dogs and likes to play, she will bark at first to say hello. Her best friends include a Pug, Pomeranian and a lab. She has never been around cats. Luna loves meeting new people. She loves all kind of treats and is not fussy. Luna understands commands such as paw, lie down, high 5, kiss and stay. She is registered with the vets and is good with children. For more information or to offer Luna a new home please email info@help2rehome.com

In 1986, a five-year-old boy in India fell asleep on a bench at a train station while waiting for his older brother to come back. His brother never returned. The boy wandered onto an empty train carriage, thinking his brother might be inside. He fell asleep again. When he woke up, the doors were locked and the train was moving. It didn’t stop for nearly two days. When it finally did, he was in Kolkata, nearly 1,500 kilometres from home. He was too young to know his surname, couldn’t read, and had no idea what his hometown was called. He survived alone on the streets for weeks, sleeping under station benches and scavenging scraps of food, before eventually being taken to an orphanage and declared a lost child. No one could trace where he came from. He was adopted by a couple from Tasmania, Australia, who gave him a loving home and a new life. His name became Saroo Brierley. He grew up on the other side of the world. But he never forgot. He held onto fragments: the image of a bridge near a train station, a water tower, a neighbourhood layout, the faces of his family. In his mid-twenties, he discovered Google Earth. He calculated the rough distance the train could have covered based on how long he remembered being on it, drew a circle on a map around Kolkata, and began searching along every railway line within that radius. Some weeks he spent 30 hours scanning satellite images of towns across central India, looking for landmarks that matched his childhood memories. His family in Australia didn’t even know. They thought he was just browsing the internet. In 2011, after years of searching, he found it. A water tower. A bridge. A ravine past a station. It was a neighbourhood called Ganesh Talai in the city of Khandwa. He zoomed in and recognised the streets he had walked as a small boy. He flew to India and walked through the town until he found his family’s home. The door was chained shut and he feared the worst. Then people came out. One of them led him to a woman down the road. It was his mother. She had never stopped looking for him. After 25 years, they were standing in front of each other. What he didn’t know until that moment was that his brother Guddu, the one he’d been waiting for at the station that night, had been struck and killed by a train. His mother had spent 25 years searching for both sons. She learned what happened to one. She never stopped praying for the other. His story became the book “A Long Way Home” and was adapted into the film “Lion,” which received six Academy Award nominations.
