sorry but everyone's wrong about this. openai is not "killing fintech" its the complete opposite. they're trying to become the distribution layer for finance. fintechs BENEFIT MORE not less. literally 2 of the biggest fintechs partnered with openai for this: intuit and plaid now get potentially 200M+ more customers via chatgpt... chatgpt finance reads your finances (very different): > chatgpt can't action anything. account aggregators, dashboards... these are all commodities (look at literally any fintech company doing this, they were suffering) > the real winners: brokerages, banks, tax firms... they now get MORE customers through chatgpt finance. chatGPT will now recommend robinhood, fidelity for storing funds, intuit's Turbo Tax for saving money etc this grows the pie massively for fintechs with chatGPT as a new distribution layer. if this plays out then openai ends up sitting on a massive trove of valuable data fintechs/banks/insurers would kill to have but thats a conversation for another day.

Automation Rule: If you're gluing too many things to automate something, don't automate it. Just wait for the model company to eat it up.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t care if most web apps look the same. All I care about is whether it does what it says and does it fast. Make it fast. Make the UX obvious. Put the right things in the right place and little to no animations.
