@edthesoundman @matthew_meadows Used it today to recreate some drums for a student of mine. Timing was weird as it was played live and couldn’t nail the groove on piano roll. Converted drum stem to midi and it still didn’t sound right until I threw it in ezdrummer, it nailed the swing & velocity w bandmate 🥳

some clarity - the roland mt-32 was a sound generator with 8 parts/32 voices. different than interfaces of today which are just ADC/DACs for converting audio in and out of your computer. Now CPUs can generate sounds on their own and storage is plentiful enough to store raw audio

I'm so out of touch, I don't even know if PC gamers these days still bother with sound cards... is that still a thing? What I do remember, though, is that the Roland MT-32 was the most unachievable piece of hardware ever back in the day, at least for me.
