The girl living with us is leaving tomorrow. She wants to pack her bag and she told me to come watch her as she does. I guess to see she doesn't pack what doesn't belong to her. ORACLE Rumblings: Oracle is rolling out mandatory weekly 1-on-1s across dev teams. Mid-tier managers are getting sudden 15-minute “catch up” invites. Employee Relations and performance language is ramping. "What Great Looks Like" - (yes, I've seen the chart.) EVP message: You must all learn AI "on your own time" - or be left behind. "We are an AI company." Sounds to me that they are standardizing performance reviews, and strengthening Employee Relations oversight... Oh my.

She told me she was having housing issues, I sent a couple hundred thousands, about 2 months later, she told me the new place had bad water and she had to move again, I felt bad, I was broke but I sent same amount again to support. Didn’t hear from her for a few weeks and the next time I heard from her she was calling from a UK number, relocated without me knowing, I put 2 and 2 together and realized, the housing issue was a way of gathering relocation funds. I felt hurt, haven’t returned her calls till today. I will eventually but right now I need a break. It’s been 2 years. I considered her a big sister, she’s about 8 years older than I am.
