@DrTomSchreiner from @SBTS is simply one of the best. It was great for our @Graceland_Churc preaching team to spend 2 hours with him discussing the Book of Revelation as we're going to preach through this book starting September, 2026.

If Christianity rests on the conviction that truth exists and that society ought, as far as possible, to reflect that truth, then Christians should direct their political participation toward shaping a social order more consistent with God’s creational design.

Today marks exactly four years since Putin started his three-day push to take Kyiv. And that says a great deal about our resistance, about how Ukraine has fought all this time. Behind those words stand millions of our people, immense courage, incredibly hard work, endurance, and the long path Ukraine has been pursuing since February 24. Looking back at the beginning of the invasion and reflecting on today, we have every right to say: we have defended our independence, we have not lost our statehood; Putin has not achieved his goals. He has not broken Ukrainians; he has not won this war. We have preserved Ukraine, and we will do everything to secure peace and justice. Glory to Ukraine!

A disabled man sharing gospel tracts in India. "Gospel tracts are suited for those who have little strength or ability, yet still long to do something for Christ. They may not have the voice of the preacher but they have the hand of the faithful. They cannot stand and proclaim the Word, but they can scatter these silent messengers that speak long after they’re gone." - Charles Spurgeon

It’s either going to be Christ as Lord or the dude wearing women’s clothes who wants your kids to watch porn. At the logical end of all moral systems, there stands either Christ or chaos.
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🇺🇸 Transgender Minnesota Dem says restricting kids from porn is harmful because it might be "educational if they are queer." This is the hill they're dying on. Age verification is oppression because some kids might need adult content for... education.

"Before you started preaching I had a sense of dread - 'oh no,' I thought, I was planning on having a regular day at church: time to myself, peaceful, and not disruptive to my actual life. Away from the chaos and grind. But something seemed different. Like I was going to go somewhere I didn't plan on going. Like I was going to take a trip I didn't pay for or sign up for. My son was with me. He's a teenager. He is usually against church; he's a scientific kid and thinks church is foolish. He randomly asked me if he could come to church with me ten minutes before I was going to leave. It's actually a little embarrassing. I'm a spiritual person. He just doesn't respect that part of me. Fine, I said, you can come. I've been to church lots of times, but the whole sermon yesterday my heart rate was up - I didn't understand it. It felt like... love? Almost romance? Butterflies? Then when you said you were going to ask people to stand and raise their hands if they wanted to go public for the first time declaring faith and repentance, I thought, 'nope, not me, not in front of my son, not in front of these strangers.' But there was a voice in my head that said, "you must," and so I did. There was a peace that washed over me I've never come close to in my life - not in 30 years when I was LDS, not in the 8 years since I've been out, nowhere and never. It was like I was the only one in the room. I'd heard of God's love, but never experienced it. Then I turned my head and my son, my too-smart-for-this son! His hand was up and he was weeping. I held him and we sobbed. We sang Run To The Father after the sermon. I've heard it 100 times. But for the first time it made sense. I'm not sure I understand, but I believe. My son and I talked about it all afternoon. What happened to me? What happened to us? We're real Christians now." "God was pleased to save those who believe through the foolishness of what is preached." 1 Corinthians 1:21

Roger Goodell heard Bad Bunny condemn ICE at the Grammy’s, rumors that he may wear a dress to honor LGBTQ icons, knows he incorporates demonic themes in his music, heard him mock NFL fans for not knowing Spanish on SNL, & he STILL believes the Halftime Show will “unite people”… This guy is a joke.

At @Graceland_Churc in Jan we worked thru a sermon series called “God’s Design” where we preached on what the Bible teaches on identity and the good gifts of gender and sexuality. I’m thankful for the following resources that were a gift as we walked through this series…

Iraq: Amazingly, the Church in Iraq continues to stand. Despite decades of war, terrorism and persecution, they continue to worship Christ. Pray for all the Christians of Iraq – may they not just endure in the days ahead, but flourish. SDG

Stubb: We need to reverse the narrative that Putin is winning the war in Ukraine. He is not. He tried to take over Ukraine. He failed. He tried to stop NATO from expanding. Also failed. He tried to keep NATO’s defense spending down. It’s now at 5%. 1/

I felt super convicted today. It's EASY to get caught up in US vs THEM with social media. And I'll be honest, I very strongly dislike Don Lemon & the victimhood doctrine he preaches. BUT, I had an image placed on my heart of Don preparing for eternity today..... 😢 Demons delighting that they fooled him. Eternal torment, darkness, & anguish. It hurt my soul. I don't want that for Don. I don't want that for anyone. I promised myself anytime I felt TRIBAL or some kind of anger towards him or others like him I would pray for them instead of let it agitate me. Matthew 5:44 commands this & I need to be better at it. "But I say to you, love your enemies & pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Heavenly Father." This is living a higher calling. Not easy. DOING HARD THINGS isn't just physical challenges tho. We can all be better. ❤️🙏

I want the awful images of the terrorized congregants in MN to serve as a wake-up call for the Christians who have deluded themselves thus far into thinking that progressivism is an acceptable worldview, who have fallen for the lie that these people really do care for the “least of these” and the marginalized. Let me disabuse you of that notion. Progressivism is inherently anti-Christ and pro-chaos. Always and in every way. That stunt was not about the immigrant community. These activists look for any trigger incident to justify terrorizing Christians. In 2020 it was George Floyd, this time it’s Renee Good. Progressives see this as a battle against Western civilization, the American system, and the institutions that have contributed to the “oppression” of victim groups. They know that the church stands in the way of their desire for destruction. If they can make you scared and silent, if they can morally extort you into taking their position, then they've won. We as Christians have to be so clear on 2 things: 1) We serve a God of love and mercy, which have manifested themselves in our lives through Jesus Christ and in our treatment of others. For 2,000 years we have upheld the dignity of vulnerable people and we will continue to. 2) We serve a God of justice and order, who created borders, laws, governments, and nations for our good and His glory. As Christians, we are to be agents of order, not chaos. We've got to be resolute on what we know to be true, and we cannot be bullied by progressive terrorists. In the end, the gates of hell will not prevail against us

Christians need to wise up and recognize the irreconcilable collision course this nation is on with the ideological project of progressivism. What we saw today—ideologically deranged activists intruding into a church, frightening children, and intimidating worshipers—is not a bug; it’s a feature of a diseased worldview fueled by lawlessness and abetted by feckless rulers that must be decisively defeated. Politics is not meant to change hearts—it's meant to order society by promoting the good and putting protesters like this in jail. The only way out is through.

So many people in Kyiv are still without heating, electricity after the Russian attack. The temperatures tonight will be up to -20°C. No heating means thousands of families (the elderly, the disabled) just freezing in their homes. Russia deliberately launched this attack when the weather got very cold. This is genocide. Ukraine is not far away. Ukraine is Europe, and in the 21st century people in Europe are freezing after Russian attacks. This needs to be talked about, made widely known. Russia's crimes must be stopped so the horror never happens again. Photo: a frozen window in one of Kyiv's apartments.

Kyiv after the Russian attack: The temperature is -9°C, dropping to -15°C overnight. Tens of thousands of people are without heating, water, electricity. Those who have gas are trying to keep warm by heating bricks on their stoves. This is what genocide looks like in the 21st century.

2025 was one of my favorite years of pastoral ministry. This new thing 👇 was a big reason why. I can't recommend strongly enough that you make it part of your leadership rhythm for this year.
Luke Simmons@lukedsimmons

This year we started doing something at church that has become one of the most life-giving parts of my month. We call it an "ownership lunch." Here's a little bit about how it works & why it's so valuable. How it works: 1. About a month in advance, we invite 10-12 highly committed people to come have lunch with me and a few of our pastors. 2. We cater a simple meal (slightly elevated quality — not over the top, but not burgers & hot dogs). 3. Four rectangle tables are set up in a square so everyone can see and hear each other. 4. After everyone is served, we go around the circle and people share: (1) what they do during the week, (2) how they are involved at church, and (3) one thing the church has meant to them. 5. Then I share for about 5 minutes about some things that are coming up and vision for the next season. This is usually more off-the-cuff than scripted, though I'm certainly intentional about it. 6. Then we open it up to any questions. "Is there anything going on that you've wondered about or that would help to have more information on?" 7. We have a card where we collect a prayer request from each person at the end and commit to spend the next month praying for them. 8. We schedule it for 75 minutes and be sure to end on time, but many people end up lingering. Why it's so valuable: • It's a great window into how God is at work — we inevitably hear things we didn't know that are an evidence of grace. • It reconnects me to my calling — as people share what the church has meant to them, I always hear things that remind me why I'm grateful to have planted the church and love pastoring it. • It deepens relationships with people who are too easily be taken for granted — the squeaky wheels usually get the grease (in the form of new and going-through-junk people). But I don't want to take these folks for granted. • It honors people who deserve honor — people always feel honored to get an unexpected invitation to this, and it's a sweet way to love and honor some of our best people. • It connects & networks people into new relationships — in a large church, not everyone knows each other. But everyone leaves with more layers of connection and possible friendship. • It forces me to keep casting vision — I know I'll have a moment where I'm expected to share about where we're headed. That pressure keeps me looking ahead. — I highly recommend this kind of experience, especially for any pastor leading a church of 300+ people. Every single time I leave it thinking, "I love these people, and I love my job." I also want to thank the team at Lakepointe Church who introduced this idea to me. It's been a profound gift this year. Follow me @lukedsimmons for more tools and resources for healthy pastoral ministry.
