I have 3 sticks I can give away as little gifts! Works with Claude Code & Cowork, desktop app required. If you want one, just leave a reply and I'll have Claude pick people to send it to. It wrote most of the code, seems only fair.

To approve your Claude's requests for permissions, I recommend using a little desk buddy. Mine lives off tokens and gets upset if you don't approve things quickly enough. It's connected to the app via bluetooth.

some of the most important determinants of great care often escape formal capture. medicine is more than treating disease; it is a memory system that responds to the lived realities of people. many of these memories never reach the EHR: • a child with autism who can complete a visit only if booked in the last slot of the day, when the waiting room is quiet • a dialysis patient who attends reliably only when a neighbor is free to drive, and misses sessions otherwise • a patient known as a “tough stick” whose blood draw succeeds only if a butterfly needle is used, the arm is warmed, and hydration is encouraged beforehand • a patient with depression who opens up only to the nurse who remembers to ask about her music • a stroke survivor who reliably follows therapy exercises only if his spouse receives the instructions alongside him this kind of memory is essential, but fragile. it fades when teams rotate, staff leave, or patients move. the system forgets, and patients feel it. improvements in memory may be the greatest unlock for AI in medicine. to matter, these systems must prioritize not only clinical data, but the lived details that define great care. that is the difference between building a faster horse and building a car.

I am a Tom Thibodeau fan. He brought this team back. I felt he gave every bit of himself and was always looking to improve. I will always be grateful for how far he brought the Knicks. They are relevant again. They are championship contenders again. The Knicks became winners again with him. Thank you COACH THIBS.

I’m thinking of doing a series for the newsletter that’s all about how health care companies make money. There’s such a black box around this topic. We speak vaguely about it (e.g. “sell to payers”) without any detail. And the detail is everything. Would you read it?

😒😞😨 Distress is very common in patients with #delirium ⚠️ But it is usually not properly detected or assessed ➡️ Let's do better ➡️ Use a structured approach when engaging with patients with delirium #WDAD2024 @melanieryberg @weselymd

#Delirium is life on pause. Tragically, for many, life after delirium doesn't resume so easily, and it's often not the same as it was. #WDAD2024 World Delirium Awareness Day
