We're running a new experiment at Sentry that will identify the root cause of issues and create a meta-group of these issues together. This is a true behavioral root cause rather than a traditional source-root.

I honestly think I'm going to end up just keeping compute on Heroku. It's overpriced but literally does not matter to save a few hundred dollars a month for our business.
Heroku wrapped in Cloudflare, db on Planetscale, all errors/perf/logs to Sentry. Easy life.

You really don't appreciate Heroku until you look at other platforms. Just kicking the tires on Fargate + ECS and realizing Heroku is also handling: - Routing - Scheduler/cron - Console / SSH / one-off runs - "Building a container image" - Env var management - Custom ACM certs

Once upon a time I made an internal service called “AndrewPDF” because it used WKHTMLtoPDF to turn pngs to pdfs for generating course completion certificates….

If you haven't already, tail your server logs and filter by requests that take longer than 500ms. Copy paste it all into Claude and say "pls fix". Instantly faster app.

All of my followers know that I started Inside Esports on @beehiiv. I have two others waiting for me to commit and write content for.
Sure, Substack was there. But something about it felt off. The news of joining up with the Polymarket, a concept I hate because it's the work around on legalized, regulated sports betting.
Glad I took a risk and am working on building with Beehiiv.

@beehiiv Y'all need to move off @heroku as soon as possible. It's not a good provider, and Salesforce has abandoned them. I have @BetterStackHQ watching all my sites (plus a couple clients) and it's popping 500 errors at least once a week. I need @beehiiv to be more reliable than this.

I need this unsubscribe automation, because beehiiv is still the number one source for funneled spam and I assume it’s related.
I don’t know anything about the service, but I personally find it disappointing that they have not squashed this problem. I don’t sign up for newsletters - ever. I don’t want your shitty drip campaigns - ever.
