I am a huge contributor of open source. But building an open source project doesn't mean you get a free pass to ignore all negative user feedback. You received $1M a month in token credits from OpenAI, and even more if we include the sponsorships for your team. Yet the app you dropped is worse than what a 7-year-old could vibe-code in 30 minutes. You press 'back' and it goes forward, etc. On top of that, you haven't fixed the massive token drain issue in over 6 months. This is exactly why people use Hermes instead. Open source is meant for everyone. It shouldn't be used as a shield to defend a product that is absolute garbage.

This is a new kind of digital product. It doesn’t need to be complicated. You just need to create an agent that solves one of your own problems, and there will definitely be someone out there who needs it too. You don’t need to build a full project. Just sell the AI workflow.

As engineering, product, design, DS, etc. melt into a new kind of role, I was reflecting on what roles might look like in the future. For example, when I look at the Claude Code team I see what I think is five archetypes: 1. Prototyper: comes up with brand new ideas; churns out many ideas, most of which don't ship 2. Builder: quickly turns a prototype/idea into production-grade product/infra 3. Sweeper: cleans up the UI, simplifies the code and system, unships, optimizes performance 4. Grower: takes a product that has been built and iterates on it to improve Product-Market Fit 5. Maintainer: owns a mature system to make it secure, reliable, fast, and efficient as it scales Many people span across 2 roles, and sometimes 3 roles. I also notice that these roles are not really tied to job function -- eg. across Anthropic, some designers match category 1, some 2, some 3; same for engineers, PM, DS. A healthy team needs a mix of these, depending on the product: - A product that is new and pre-PMF needs people that are strong at 1+2+3 - A product that is growing and has found PMF needs 2+3+4 and some 5 - A product that has strong PMF needs 3+4+5 and some 2 Maybe product roles of the future will look more like this, and less like the domain-specific roles of today?

I can confirm this is true. I used to be a SWE years ago, and I never thought building something without writing code was possible, it felt completely unrealistic. But now, aside from reviewing the important parts of what AI generates, I no longer code manually.

@argofowl finally someone said it right and clear.. you could triple the 5 hour rate limit and it wouldnt change a damn thing for me.. need the weekly limit raised

everyone at anthropic acting like they removed the rate limits altogether you just doubled the 5 hour window... i never heard anyone complain about the 5 hour window limits even once it's the weekly limits that are the most annoying

@bcherny built a proxy router software from scratch on an empty ubuntu machine using claude code, 10k of lines and took 2-3 days to finish

Another reason why I run Claude Code on the VPS of the site I'm working on directly in production I can close my laptop and it keeps going!

@trq212 you should put more effort in the remote-control .. it often still gets disconnected

Claude Code can now send push notifications to your phone when a long task finishes or Claude needs your input. Walk away from the terminal, we'll let you know when it's done.
