I can’t emphasize enough how much we need to 1️⃣understand what the science says about how kids learn to read & 2️⃣implement it in our classrooms.Literacy is a human right and we need proven approaches NOW. A small investment now=a world of a difference for our kids & their futures

We heard from @DCPSChancellor that @_DCHealth isn't recommending widespread testing b/c of "science." I have 4 tweet thread responses to the @councilofdc mtg. addressing 1) CDC guidance, 2 )equity in DC, 3) the 15+ districts that ARE testing & 4) why it's best for DC to join them
