But that’s not how the world works. First comes the policy, then the changes. Obama made the new rules and then it took 10 years for companies to figure them out and now every single vehicle made after Obama cafe rules are going bad. They cost more and less reliable. Trump just reversed these cafe rules but it’s too late. Companies spent billions trying to comply so the prices of cars went up by billions on the whole for a crappier product in the end. Gm just spent another billion to invent another new engine. They are under NHTSA investigations for their recalls as well as Toyota and others bc they had to comply with Obama cafe rules and push technology that wasn’t tested or verified. It’s beyond maddening.

No one had heard of cylinder deactivation or auto start stop until Obama forced it. So that one decision by democrats called CAFE standards not only made every car more expensive just because but the reliability also went down which forced more spending on repairs and extended warranties.
