@archeohistories There is 0 archeological evidence showing sapiens came out of Africa. In addition, these facial reconstructions of neanderthals are anatomically deceptive. Neanderthal skulls show large eye orbits, % protruding nose bridge and sloped forehead, modern jews and semites basically

In 2007, scientists made a stunning discovery that rewrote our understanding of human prehistory. By extracting the MC1R gene from Neanderthal fossils found in Italy and Spain, researchers identified a mutation in bones more than 43,000 years old that reduced dark pigment production and allowed red and yellow pigments to dominate. This was the same basic biological process responsible for red hair and fair skin in modern humans. The finding suggested that Neanderthals, who had spent hundreds of thousands of years adapting to the low-sunlight conditions of northern Europe, likely had pale skin and red hair long before our own ancestors arrived on the continent. When Homo sapiens migrated out of Africa into the cold, dimly lit regions of Europe, they encountered Neanderthals and interbred with them. Today, most non-African humans carry between one and four percent Neanderthal DNA. While the specific MC1R mutation found in ancient Neanderthal bones differs from the variants seen in modern redheads, scientists believe convergent evolution or shared genetic architecture may explain the parallel outcomes. Interestingly, the MC1R gene does more than influence hair color. It also affects pain perception, with redheads typically requiring significantly more anesthesia during surgery. Every person carrying red hair traits is, in a very real sense, a living record of an ancient encounter between two human species. The discovery that Neanderthals carried a variant of the MC1R gene linked to red hair and fair skin had wide-reaching implications across multiple scientific fields. In genetics and evolutionary biology, it helped establish that Neanderthals were far more biologically complex and similar to modern humans than previously assumed, dismantling the outdated image of them as primitive brutes. It also introduced the concept of convergent evolution in human lineages, showing that different human species could independently develop similar physical traits in response to the same environmental pressures, namely adapting to low ultraviolet light in northern latitudes. In medicine, the deeper study of the MC1R gene that followed this discovery shed light on why redheads experience pain differently and require adjusted anesthesia dosages, findings that have practical implications for surgical care. The research also accelerated interest in ancient DNA extraction techniques, paving the way for more sophisticated paleogenomics studies in the years that followed. Culturally, it reinforced the idea that modern humans are not a clean evolutionary line but a mosaic species shaped by ancient interbreeding events, fundamentally changing how anthropologists, geneticists, and the general public understand what it means to be human. #archaeohistories

It’s difficult to truly understand the magnitude of war until you translate it into something familiar. Imagine living in the American Midwest and discovering that a full-scale war has erupted in Ohio. Not overseas. Not “somewhere else.” Right next door. You’d still go to work, buy groceries, and check the weather—but now highways might be closed, refugees could be crossing state lines, and the economic shock would spread through every neighboring state. That’s the reality for much of Europe today. Many European countries are small and closely connected through trade, energy grids, rail networks, and family ties. A conflict in one nation isn’t distant—it’s just a few hours’ drive away. For context, the distance from Paris to eastern Ukraine is roughly the same as Chicago to Denver. Wars in Europe have historically reshaped the entire continent, even when only one region is actively fighting. Supply chains, food prices, fuel costs, and political stability can all shift rapidly. During World War II, some European capitals were closer to enemy front lines than many Americans are to their own state capitals, making “nearby war” a lived reality rather than an abstract concept.

Gila Gamliel, Israel’s minister of innovation, science and technology, posted a selfie on X on Monday wearing a “Make Iran Great Again” cap, tagging Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last shah, with the caption “Soon.” Gamliel told Iran International in September that Israel supports exiled crown prince Reza Pahlavi as Iranians “trust and back him,” in the first explicit endorsement by an Israeli cabinet member of the exiled prince’s push for regime change.

@PremierScottMoe What no one here seems to understand is that these equalization payments are not payed by the provinces. Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan do not pay for the other provinces directly, however, the federal taxes collected throughout the year are directed to the other provinces.

The Federal government gave next year’s equalization amounts to provincial finance ministers. This map is a clear indication of which provinces are driving Canada’s economy and how the equalization formula disincentivizes economic growth.

Israel's high-powered laser interception system, dubbed "Iron Beam," will be handed over to the military on December 30, the head of the Defense Ministry's Directorate of Defense Research and Development says. Speaking at the DefenseTech Summit, DDR&D head Danny Gold says that "with development complete and a comprehensive testing program that has validated the system's capabilities, we are prepared to deliver initial operational capability to the IDF on December 30, 2025." "The Iron Beam laser system is expected to fundamentally change the rules of engagement on the battlefield. Simultaneously, we are already advancing the next-generation systems," he says. The Iron Beam has been in development for over a decade. During the current war, a lower-powered version of the system was used by the IDF to shoot down Hezbollah drones launched from Lebanon.

In 1920s, Leonard Woolley, a British archaeologist, led a series of excavations at Ur, a city that held great significance in the history of Mesopotamia. As Woolley and his team carefully unearthed the remnants of this ancient civilization, they made a remarkable discovery beneath the city streets – a network of remarkably well-preserved 4,000 year old drains. These ancient drains were not just ordinary channels for wastewater; they represented an advanced system of urban infrastructure that demonstrated the Sumerians’ impressive engineering and architectural capabilities. The careful construction and maintenance of these drains provided a glimpse into the high level of sophistication achieved by the ancient society of Ur. By meticulously documenting and studying these drains, Woolley was able to offer valuable insights into the daily life and urban planning of the Sumerians. The presence of such an advanced drainage system indicated the Sumerians’ understanding of sanitation and public health, as well as their mastery of water management techniques. #archaeohistories

@TonyGuzman92 @MLS @WhitecapsFC Sure was poorly officiated. The only worse performance than the ref was the one linesman. I sat right in line with him and he missed three or four obvious calls. Just pathetic . I don't think this referee will get a other playoff game. Every foul was a yellow card! WTF?
