This is turning into a dumpster fire but there are multiple options this offseason. I think the three major routes are: 1. Giannis trade 2. Soft reset, trading Sengun and Durant, and building around Amen/Reed 3. Stay the course with Fred/Adams returning [and possibly make a secondary move like trading Jabari for an upgrade]. I think #3 is far and away the most likely. I think the organization firmly believes that the return of Fred and Adams will cure all ills and with this roster construction and coaching philosophy, that’s close to true, if they actually are healthy. The counter-argument would be that banking on these guys being 100% and staying healthy (not to mention Durant at 38) is a tall order, but my guess would be that the organization would say there’s no opportunity cost to that route. Fred is under contract, regardless, and you’re not losing out on a premium return for Durant. Sengun’s trade value is probably as low as ever. They had might as well just give this team one fair shot since they’re set up financially for it. They would still have Amen and Reed under club control if they want to reset the following year. If they do choose route 3 like I’m guessing, the most interesting question will be to what extent they lean in and trade future picks rather than preserve assets for the possible reset.

At an absolute minimum, they need to hire an assistant coach to run the offense next season.

🤣

Really puzzled why we didn’t just draft Castle at #3. You can’t really ask for more than what Reed did in the first half. Then he barely plays the second half. I guess he’s even worse defensively than believed in the pre-draft process. +11 tonight, second only to KD.
