A society that prioritizes adult individuals over children and families is destined for misery. I don’t blame the adults, they’re just doing what our culture says we should do: look after ourselves first and only, bc people we don’t know aren’t our problem. If a pregnant or elderly woman wants your seat on the subway, too bad, she should have gotten there first.

It finally happened. After more than 2 decades of flying, I was asked to give up my 2A for 22A by a family of four (husband, wife + two kids under 10, one of them being treated as a lap baby). The wife asked if I’d switch. I felt bad refusing, so tried to be a little reasonable, told her if she covered what I paid for my seat, I’d move (front seats cost way more than the ones in the back) She countered saying they’d also…….

🚨BREAKING: Two researchers from UPenn and Boston University just published a paper that should be uncomfortable reading for every CEO automating their workforce right now. The argument is straightforward. Every company replacing workers with AI is also eliminating its own future customers. Laid off workers stop spending. Enough of them stop spending and nobody can afford to buy anything. The companies that fired everyone end up selling into an economy with no purchasing power left. Every executive can see this. The math is not complicated. But here is why nobody stops. If you do not automate, your competitor does. They cut costs, lower prices, take your market share, and you collapse anyway. So every company automates knowing it is collectively destructive because the alternative is dying alone while everyone else survives. The researchers proved this is a Prisoner's Dilemma playing out in real time. The numbers are already moving. Block cut nearly half its 10,000 employees this year. Jack Dorsey said AI made those roles unnecessary and that within the next year the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion. Salesforce replaced 4,000 customer support agents with AI. Goldman Sachs deployed a coding tool that lets one engineer do the work of five. Over 100,000 tech workers were laid off in 2025 and AI was cited as the primary driver in more than half those cases. 80% of US workers hold jobs with tasks susceptible to AI automation. The researchers tested every proposed solution. Universal basic income does not change a single company's incentive to automate. Capital income taxes adjust profit levels but not the per-task decision to replace a human. Collective bargaining cannot hold because automating is always the dominant strategy. They also identified what they call a Red Queen effect. Better AI does not solve the problem, it accelerates it. Every company chases faster automation to gain market share over rivals but at the end everyone has automated equally, the gains cancel out, and the only thing left is more destroyed demand. The one thing the math says could work is a Pigouvian automation tax. A per-task charge that forces companies to account for the demand they destroy each time they replace a worker. The conclusion is that this is not a transfer of wealth from workers to owners. Both sides lose. Workers lose income. Companies lose customers. It is a deadweight loss with no market mechanism to stop it on its own.

My brother is an employer. One of his crew recently lost an 8 months old child. He told her to stay home and then they would talk about coming back to work on a flexibel schedule. He also took the whole crew out for lunch in a quiet place to mourn together and talk about the best way to support the beraved mother as a team. He's only 32, I think my parents raised him well ❤️‍🩹

I hope the USMNT/USWNT players are watching and take note. Genuine love, respect, and appreciation for your country (or lack of) will manifest on the field. Win/lose, people want to be inspired, united, and proud. Celebrating your country is beautiful and fun....it's also smart.

While I’m already a cosponsor of the SAVE Act, the updated version makes a strong bill even stronger. Protecting the integrity of our elections by making sure only U.S. citizens vote is common sense. Proud to cosponsor the SAVE America Act so only Americans have a say in American elections.

To clarify: I wasn’t calling anyone a “fake citizen” because they’re from Puerto Rico. I live in Puerto Rico, and I love Puerto Rico. I have used my platform to support Puerto Rico time and time again and will always do so. But if you’re publicly criticizing ICE who are doing their job and openly hating on America, I’m going to speak on it. Period. That’s the same reason I called out Hunter Hess. If you benefit from a country and the platform it gives you, but publicly disrespect it at the same time, that’s what I mean by being a fake citizen. And I agree love is more powerful than hate. Love America.

@doronkatz @Simon_Ingari Yeah same. And when I take off for a Dr appointment or a chaperoning a field trip I am not worried about banking hours to cover it. I find it way less stressful but that's my experience

HR Manager: We do have an unlimited PTO policy. Employee: Oh—so I can take every Friday off? HR Manager: Well, no. Employee: What about taking a week of vacation every month? HR Manager: No, it still needs to be reasonable. Employee: Okay—how about taking a full month off each year for an extended holiday? HR Manager: That’s not something we would be open to. Employee: Then how is it unlimited? HR Manager: You don’t have a fixed number of vacation days per year. Employee: So the company doesn’t have to pay employees out for unused PTO. HR Manager: [Silence] Employee: And since PTO isn’t defined as part of total compensation, there’s no guarantee what time off will be approved—it’s entirely at the manager’s discretion. HR Manager: Yes, your manager would need to approve it. Employee: That also creates guilt for employees who worry about taking “too much” time off, so they often take less leave than they would if they had a defined allocation. HR Manager: I suppose—perhaps. Employee: Meanwhile, employees with more accommodating managers benefit by being approved for more time off. HR Manager: I’m confused about where you’re going with this. Employee: I just want to make sure I fully understand what “unlimited PTO” actually means beyond the flashy name.

@joeroganhq How great is it that we live in a country where we can speak out when we are happy with it and disappointed in it and not face prosecution? Just like a child - you can still love the USA and be disappointed in it sometimes. This isn't Big Brother.
