I'm not saying ROSA is a bad service. I'm saying that it's aimed at big-E Enterprises with existing investments in OpenShift. (If I'm wrong, then its marketing needs a rework.) The right answer here is ECS, specifically Fargate if possible. If that falls down, EKS.

@StGebert @colmmacc Could you DM me specifics about routing traffic to down ECS/Fargate tasks? I'd like to investigate with my team.

Gateway Load Balancer is *HUGE* and brings a capability to the cloud that has never even existed in traditional/legacy datacenter networks. It's not "just" ECMP. Flows are symmetrical, and sticky! Let me explain ...

@myroslavco @themsaid We use AWS ECS. I recommend using fargate as much as possible. EC2 can have some quirks with autoscaling and can end up being really frustrating and time consuming.

I agree with @QuinnyPig on CodeBuild being the best single-container service. We tried, as an experiment, to include an ECS task as part of Step Functions-centric, SAM-deployed app, and gave up (went back to CodeBuild) because there is no dev tooling path for it.

You always hear these stories about Amazon & AWS being so incredibly customer focused. The only conclusion I can draw from that is that I am not seen as a customer then.. This tweet is brought to you by trying to get an ECS cluster to autoscale ☹️😞

@dave_universetf Not cool in either case! Please reach out to @rorypetty or myself and we will get this sorted. Alerts not firing for customers is, as you say, P0-worthy.
