@nitwitschool Did I miss where the Oilers fired their coach? Vegas is within their rights to do it, like it or not, but getting leaked that’s you’re seeking to interview someone before firing your existing head coach is not a good look.

Whoa, you don't hear that very often. Usually when you shit-can a coach, it's etiquette to let them interview elsewhere (plus who the hell wants to keep paying them?).
Frank Seravalli@frank_seravalli

League sources say #Oilers have sought permission to interview Bruce Cassidy as they contemplate significant coaching staff changes. To this point, sources say @GoldenKnights have withheld permission from division rival. Gamesmanship? Perhaps. Mostly unprecedented for role.

@SeahawksForever @4evrNostra If you’re buying a team you’re also looking where you can increase revenue. I agree Lumen doesn’t need to be replaced, but with how NFL revenue sharing works if you’re not creating/maximizing suite and premium spaces that’s the biggest money maker for teams.

@4evrNostra Every year they do a nice job or refreshing and upgrading it. If I’m buying the team it’s one of the last things I’m thinking about. In fact it’s an asset in the deal!

Seth is a really good reporter but I feel like he’s doing some heavy speculative lifting here. 1) I don’t believe Seattle fans care about a fancier, “state of the art” facility. Lumen is meat-and-potatoes but that’s part of its appeal. It also helped it get built on time and under budget (which almost never happens). 2) Lumen doesn’t feel its age, like at all. Absolutely no argument that it’s obsolete or crumbling. 3) Most of all, it’s paid off! The new owner doesn’t assume massive stadium debt as part of the deal, like so many others have. Why CREATE more debt when you have that advantage? I’m not saying Lumen will last forever, but replacing it would seem to me to be the least of any new owners concerns for a good long while.
Seattle Sports@SeattleSports

Could a #Seahawks sale come with a replacement for Lumen Field? ESPN's Seth Wickersham broke down why his report on the state of the team's sale included a surprising detail about a potential new stadium when he joined @BrockHuard & @TheMikeSalk. sports.mynorthwest.com/brock-and-salk…

@InTheDomePod Idk if it’s rigged or not, but if it’s not it’s insanely coincidental Toronto has a nightmare of year after losing Marner, hire a GM that hasn’t worked in the league in like 5 years, had that disaster of a presser barely 24 hours before the lottery.. and they win 🤔🤔

@spittinchiclets This is cool and all but it depends on the severity of the ACL tear and the trauma around the knee to determine if someone can tough it out. When I tore mine, I was on crutches for a week with my knee the size of a mini watermelon. Entire calf was black and purple.

@espn The intervention program is actually the best case for Atlanta here. Pearce stays on the roster, charges get dismissed if he stays clean six months, and the Falcons don't lose a first-round pick to suspension. Everyone wins if he handles his business.

Falcons LB James Pearce Jr. agreed Thursday to enter an intervention program, allowing him to avoid trial on felony charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing police and resisting arrest, along with misdemeanor stalking, his attorney said. spr.ly/6011BBE0mR

@anthonydion03 @shad_hussain12 @ByTimBooth Not how you’re framing it, it’s not. Ask any soccer player if they’d rather play on turf or bad grass, they’ll say turf. It’s why in venues like Lumen with multiple tenants and schedule congestion and their seasons it’s just not feasible practically or from a cost standpoint.

Not even an hour after the match has ended and they already have the mowers going on the grass at Lumen with the Sounders playing here in less than 24 hours.

@shad_hussain12 @anthonydion03 @ByTimBooth I doubt Aviva is having 2-3 games a week in that stadium. And it mostly has to do with football, not just how they tear the field up but with the sheer amount of people on the sidelines skills the grass.

@anthonydion03 @ByTimBooth There really is no excuse. Aviva Stadium in Ireland handles both rugby and soccer and looks gorgeous with grass, that too in a similar climate.

I really don’t think it’s out of the question to consider a late flyer on Zavier Gozo making the #USMNT squad. 19 years old, but the kid is fearless, full of swagger and has been on a heater. We’ve seen crazier things…. 🤔

@robertohanson @stuholden 100%, and I’m not a Euro-snob who thinks anyone in MLS is trash. I worked in the league for 5 years, just odd that a play against *this* team given the others you referenced seems to make waves.

@nshrader10 @stuholden Yeah, SKC is not good but Gozo’s got 5 goal contributions in 6 starts and has played this well vs good teams (Sounders, San Diego) while adapting to a new RWB role. His first game vs Vancouver was a bit rough.
