$NBIS is down 12% today on a convertible notes offering and is now trading cheaper than it was before the $27 billion Meta deal was announced this yesterday. Let that sink in. Meta just committed $27 billion to this company. NVIDIA invested $2 billion last week. Microsoft is locked in at $19 billion. The contracted backlog now sits near $50 billion on a company with a $28 billion market cap. And the stock is lower than it was before any of that was public today. The notes offering is not a red flag. It is how you fund a $5 gigawatt buildout. You raise cheap debt when you have $50 billion in contracted revenue behind you. That is not dilution out of desperation. That is a company financing the infrastructure to fulfill the most consequential contracts in AI history. I added here. The catalysts sitting directly in front of $NBIS right now are as stacked as I have seen for any company I follow. Capacity scaling from 170MW to 1GW by end of 2026. Missouri 1.2GW campus breaking ground. Vera Rubin deployment beginning second half of 2026 as one of the first in the world. Meta capacity delivery starting 2027. Revenue expected to hit $7 to $9 billion ARR by year end. The market sold the mechanism and ignored the contract. That is the trade. I think we see a reversal this week. The fundamentals do not support this price for long.

I am a senior vice president at Amazon. I just laid off 14,000 people. I blamed AI. AI didn't make the decision. I did. In a conference room. With a spreadsheet. And a latte. The latte was oat milk. I'm trying to be more sustainable. Let me walk you through the process. First, you identify "efficiency opportunities." Efficiency opportunities are people. Then you "leverage AI-driven insights." AI-driven insights are which people. The AI recommends. I decide. But the press release says AI. AI never talks back. AI never leaks to reporters. AI never asks for severance. AI is the perfect scapegoat. We announced a "reorganization." Reorganization is when you fire people but use more syllables. More syllables means less guilt. That's linguistics. The memo mentioned "reducing bureaucracy." Bureaucracy means middle managers. Middle managers are people with families who used to have jobs. Used to. Past tense is the efficiency. We're "shifting resources to our biggest bets." Our biggest bets are data centers. And robots. Robots don't need healthcare. That's the ROI. Return On Inhumanity. I made that up. It's not in the deck. Our operating income was $18 billion last quarter. Record profits. We still did layoffs. Profits don't prevent layoffs. Profits cause layoffs. Wall Street loves layoffs. Stock goes up. Headcount goes down. That's the seesaw. A consulting firm did a study. 95% of companies have seen no measurable return from AI. Despite $40 billion in investment. We're in the 95%. But we're optimistic. Optimistic means we'll keep firing people until the AI works. Or until there's no one left. Whichever comes first. Free cash flow dropped from $53 billion to $18 billion. Where did it go? AI infrastructure. We're cutting people today to build the systems that replace people tomorrow. That's called "investing in the future." The future has fewer humans in it. But more servers. Servers don't unionize. A reporter asked if AI really caused the layoffs. I said AI is "transforming how we work." Transform means replace. How we work means you. Transforming you. Out of here. I have a prepared statement. "We're excited about the opportunities ahead." Opportunities means your job. Ahead means soon. I'm doing a keynote next quarter. "Leading Through AI Transformation." Transformation means I fired 14,000 people and kept my bonus. But that's too long for a conference title. The market understands. The market always understands. The market is also AI. Probably. I didn't lay off 14,000 people. AI did. That's my story. The shareholders love it. The algorithm approves. Leadership.

This incident reflects badly on the poor internal control environment in your organization. There was nothing to prevent the employee from downloading unauthorized software on company device. While you are at it check for data exfiltration as well and use this as an opportunity strengthen your infrastructure.
