We’re excited to welcome five new team members joining from Algorand Technologies. Chris Peikert, professor of computer science at the University of Michigan and leading post-quantum cryptographer, has joined the Algorand Foundation as Chief Scientific Officer. Chris led Algorand’s post-quantum security implementations and will continue this work as Chief Scientific Officer. Additionally, four engineers joined from AT, strengthening the Foundation’s technical team under our newly appointed CTO, Bruno Martins. John Jannotti joined as SVP of Protocol Engineering and will lead the Protocol Engineering team. Pavel Zbitskiy and an additional team member joined as Principal Protocol Engineers under John. Additionally, John Lee joined as Director of Protocol Infrastructure. Welcome to the team!

Algorand protocol development and ecosystem growth are now under one roof. Algorand Foundation and Algorand Technologies ( @Algorand ) have come to a strategic agreement to unify ecosystem operations. This agreement creates a unified powerhouse for blockchain innovation here in the United States and positions Algorand as the chain that enables financial empowerment at scale.

Aid programs get cut because donors cannot see where the money goes. The Aid Trust Portal changes that. Real-time, on-chain tracking of humanitarian aid flows on Algorand, with fraud detection built in and every transaction verifiable on an immutable ledger.

USDC on Algorand is now supported on @krakenfx and the @Krak mobile app. Users can deposit, withdraw, hold, and spend USDC with fast, low-cost transactions. Kraken will also run an Algorand node, supporting network decentralization and security.

IMO, these 5 integrations could be massive game changers for $ALGO in terms of interoperability and adoption: 1⃣ CCIP / @chainlink 👉 Just think of CCIP as basically a universal bridge that allows different chains to communicate quickly and securely (transfers, cross-chain apps, etc). Integrating Algorand into CCIP would help it stop being isolated from the rest of the web3 ecosystem, and would definitely bring more liquidity into the ecosystem, more volume on DEXs, higher TVL! $ALGO has so much going for it! so many key features most other chains don't, and it could definitely attract more big players already in web3. Just look at all the liquidity still sitting on $ETH! I'm pretty sure that with a solid/reliable bridge like CCIP, Algorand could finally start catching some of that flow. 👋 @ChainLinkGod @SergeyNazarov 2⃣ CCTP / @circle 👉 As you know, $USDC-A is one of the best options for any $USDC user: instant finality and low fees. CCTP basically allows $USDC to be transferred across chains 100% natively, with no bridges involved! This enables much smoother $USDC flow across all supported ecosystems. Right now, if an institution or company wants to move, let's say 100M $USDC from $ETH to $ALGO, it's not really convenient, slow, and potentially insecure (needs to rely on bridges or CEXs). With Algorand integrated into CCTP, it would be so much easier! And with over $150M in $USDC-A already on-chain, it would be more than relevant! 👍 👋 @jerallaire 3⃣ Become fully ISO 20022 compliant 👉 It would probably require a huge amount of work, but could be absolutely massive in terms of long-term ROI for the chain. As you may know, $ALGO is one of the very few blockchains that could become ISO 20022 compliant... This narrative is extremely powerful, just look at the tons of articles/videos about it! To clarify: no, $ALGO is not compliant yet, but it could be, as it checks all the technical boxes. ISO 20022 is the international messaging standard used by banks, financial institutions, payment systems, etc... and we're currently in the middle of a global transition, including SWIFT, which will fully adopt ISO 20022 by November 2025! Let's be clear: ISO 20022 systems handles trillions of dollars every day. Even a small share of that flowing through blockchain-based solutions = massive impact! Being ISO 20022-compliant would definitely position $ALGO as a perfect entry point for onboarding traditional finance, just like a real bridge between DeFi and TradFi (just imagine hybrid apps!). I'm 100% speculating here, but who knows, maybe projects like @koibanx, which uses $ALGO and already works with many banks in South America, could help make this a reality? 👀 4⃣ Staking / @coinbase @binance 👉 NGL, it's very likely that the vast majority of $ALGO holders today are still on CEXs. Binance and Coinbase are definitely the most popular exchanges in terms of new user adoption, by far. Bringing Algorand staking to both would be massive, not only to reduce sell pressure (since people on CEXs are more likely to stake than sell), but also to help network security and boost TVL. 5⃣ Better web3 interoperability / @axelar 👉 IMO, it would be really complementary with CCIP by $LINK and would boost Algorand's interoperability like never before! Having $ALGO integrated on Axelar would allow devs to build dApps that interact easily with other chains (69+ already connected), with no need for complex bridges or manual multi-chain deployments. More visibility, more builders, more liquidity! 👋 @sergey_nog Obviously, we have to keep in mind that it's easier said than done, some of these integrations often require massive financial and human resources, way more than most people think. But I'm sure these are important directions that could truly push things forward for $ALGO.
