The sooner that everyone realizes that the balance of trade doesn't matter, the better. You have a trade deficit with your grocery store, and it's to both your benefit and that of the grocery store.

@NewReaganCaucus Alas, for many Americans - “free trade” actually meant “economic colonialism”. The low cost labour was done by low cost people, the profit uplift by a tiny (usually American) company. Coffee is the classic example.

We've lost a few followers over our free-trade crusade, but if Trump doesn't pivot, everyone will be a free trader in short time.
