I make generative digital paintings with code. Equally influenced by pioneers of digital art (Manfred Mohr, Lillian Schwartz), classic artists (Moholy-Nagy, Kandinsky) and yes, modern crypto artists. It's all the same arc, let's see where it goes next. #OriginalContentArtist

we make so many mistakes as artists when we make things out of wanting to be loved instead of wanting to open a door into the abyss

@styblova Happened to me too styblova and I quit, life’s too short for this nonsense and I’m happy to just make art on my own. Still check in time to time to hear from real peeps like you though. 🤍🖤

this algorithm stuff is nonsense. i go quiet for a few months to work on life, i pay for pro, and it gives me 20 views per post? how is that even possible? shouldn't it be the other way around, celebrating the return and encouraging us to post more?

Many times I hear in the space "I quit" or "Done with this space." There are multiple reasons for that, but one of the things where this frustration comes from is that your content does not meet the right audience. If you're here for art, sadly probably only 10% of people in this space are here for it. Also many still confuse art, collectibles, and product design as the same thing. Most of the people navigating in the crypto/NFT space, in general, are traders or stock investors; their goal is to make profitable choices with most of their purchases. Meaning sometimes collectors don't even know or care what the works they bought are, as it's seen just as a leverage product that can be flipped for profit. But is this a bad thing? Absolutely not, it's just a different market with different goals (sadly playing at times with some artists' hearts), some do this to be able to buy art with their profits, ones they couldn't purchase without doing flipping. Nothing in this world is black and white; there are only points of view from different angles on how to look at things. This is how the audience does not meet the content you create. You are here for art but the people you try to reach out without success are probably not, and that causes clash and drama. Remember no one will come to get you from your room and change this; you yourself have to reach out and make the change if things are not working, state your goal and search for a solution. If your goal is to reach people, do not focus on one platform; expand outside. If your focus is to make sales, learn from the market and who your audience is or find someone who does this for you. Stop useless shilling and focusing on how many likes and shares your image gets; most of these randomly appeared people are there just to consume the euphoria of a pretty image and forget it after 5 seconds. Find your people, make genuine connections, those who appreciate you and your art. These people care about you for meaningful reasons and will be there for decades to come, no matter how much the space keeps changing. Focus on what you love, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. The space is still very, very, very young, and we all are in a way still learning. We go forward in baby steps, artists learning from collectors and collectors learning from artists. If you find out you haven't reached out or done your research don't be afraid to ask questions and learn from one another. This is a great space to open discussion and find solutions together; don't be afraid to speak out.
