Garba Shehu, a former media aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari has given insight into why his principal was “hated” by Olusegun Obasanjo. Reacting to a recent remark by former President Obasanjo over the Buhari’s administration, Shehu said the former never liked his boss. Also referring to his book, ‘According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesman’s Experience’, Shehu, however said the late Buhari held Obasanjo in high esteem. He said the duo fell out of respect and admiration for each other over an unmeng demand. According to Garba Shehu, Obasanjo had made some demands of Muhammadu Buhari during his tenure as president in the Mambilla Power Project. In the book, he said, “There are many around Muhammadu Buhari who hold that the spectacular falling out between him (Buhari) and his superior in the military whom he cherished and much respected, President Olusegun Obasanjo, was on account of the demand, reportedly put to him by Obasanjo, that the contract for the Mambilla Power Project be given to a contractor he preferred. ‘‘On this, the late Buhari politely told the former president to allow him to handle it his own way, following the due process that was in place.”

Fellow Nigerians, A fair tax system must never punish poverty or weigh down the most vulnerable. With the new tax laws I recently signed, taking effect from January 2026, we have lifted this burden and created a path of equity, fairness, and true redistribution in our economy. A Personal Income Tax Calculator has been developed. It allows you to check your estimated tax under the new laws against what you currently pay. It shows clearly how these reforms protect low-income earners, ensures progressivity, and simplifies compliance in order to deliver a transparent system that works for all. Try the Personal Income Tax calculator at fiscalreforms.ng/index.php/pit-… Together, we are renewing hope in the Nigeria of our dreams. Take a bet on our country. Bet on Nigeria to work for you, your family, and your community. ~ PBAT

Based on scientific consensus from WHO, FDA, and over 280 institutions reviewing 3,000+ studies, approved GMOs are as safe for human health as conventional foods, with no proven risks like toxicity or allergies. Environmental concerns exist, such as herbicide resistance and biodiversity impacts, but these vary by case. Overall, GMOs are not inherently unsafe.

@ogbozoranthony2 @Rimam4Abirio @ruffydfire It's possible you have dementia, when APC was pushing their propaganda against GEJ, coupled with kidnapping of Chibok girls with multiple attacks from BokoHaram in a bid to discredit his govt. Everyone was shouting "say Baba say Buhari" holding on to power would've been chaotic.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has stated that suspending elected officials in Rivers State could tarnish the country’s image. He made the remark at the Haske Satumari Foundation Colloquium in Abuja on Saturday. “These actions by key actors in the executive and legislative arms of government paint the country in a negative light,” he said. Jonathan while sharing his thoughts about the political turmoil in Rivers State, said although it is not the norm for former presidents to comment on issues in the polity so as not to heat up the polity, he insisted that the image of the country and how much investments a country attracts is heavily dependent on the actions of the executive, legislature and judiciary of the country.

@Abuuameer001 @JacobAmeh6 @instablog9ja Well, I am of the opinion that punishment if deserving should be administered by the person offended not a third party who is also worse in his decision making too. Your own offence may even be greater than his in God's view but you instead are standing to exact judgement for God

PRESS RELEASE NNPC Ltd Set to Supply 100mmscf/d Gas to Dangote Refinery ...10-year Deal to Boost Local Production, Revamp Industrial Growth The NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, has successfully executed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE. The agreement, signed by the Managing Director, NGML, Barr. Justin Ezeala and the President/CEO of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote on Tuesday at the Corporate Head Office of Dangote in Falomo, Lagos State, outlines the supply of natural gas for power generation and feedstock at the Dangote Refinery, in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State. This major milestone is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's policy of utilizing Nigeria's abundant gas resources towards revamping the nation's industrial growth and kickstarting its economic prosperity. This development, which sees a huge investment of this nature penned with zero capital expenditure (CAPEX) outlay, has been described by many as unprecedented in the history of NGML or any gas Local Distribution Company (LDC) in the country. Under the terms of the agreement, NGML will supply 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D), 50MMSCF/D being firm supply and the rest 50MMSCF/D, interruptible natural gas supply to the refinery for an initial period of 10 years, with options for renewal and growth. This collaboration is a significant step toward ensuring the operational success of the Dangote Refinery and enhancing Nigeria’s domestic gas utilization. NNPC Ltd., through NGML, its gas marketing subsidiary, continues to lead efforts in promoting the use of domestic gas to support industries and businesses nationwide. The agreement represents a milestone for both NNPC Ltd. and Dangote Refinery, aligning with their shared commitment to boosting local production and providing vital products for the benefit of all Nigerians. It is also a further proof of NGML’s unwavering commitment to business excellence and fulfilling NNPC Ltd.’s core mandate of ensuring Nigeria’s energy security through the execution of strategic gas projects across the country. This man singlehandedly destroyed the power sector in Nigeria, a whole sum of $16bn was said to be used to upgrade the power sector during his tenure. That amount can be used to provide 24/7 power to the whole of West Africa, surprisingly not a single transformer was procured.

There is a country called Tuvalu. It's in Oceania. You can tour the whole country in less than 20 mins. Polulation is less than 11k. They have only 4 hotels and 1 police station. It is forbidden to ride a car. Only government officials are permitted to because apparently there's no space. The whole country is like one narrow road. The whole area is 26 km2 (10 sq mi). You can see the ocean on the right and the see on the left. They have no university (People go to nearby Fiji for university), but education up to high school is free. It is estimated that Tuvalu will sink fully in the next 30 to 40 years. I found out about them today

We are pleased to announce the approval of N77,000 as the new minimum wage for the lowest-paid workers in Ogun State, effective immediately. This decision, reached after discussions with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), reflects our commitment to improving the welfare of our workers. Our administration remains dedicated to alleviating the challenges faced by the people of Ogun State. We are also engaging with the private sector, encouraging them to adopt similar measures to ensure fair wages for their employees. We will establish a monitoring team to oversee the implementation of this policy in the private sector to prevent any discrepancies. We are grateful for the positive response from the organized labour leaders, who have acknowledged this new minimum wage as the highest in the country. This step, along with the non-taxation of the new basic salary, underscores our government’s commitment to supporting our workers and enhancing their livelihoods. We believe these actions will inspire greater dedication from our workforce as we continue to work together for the progress of Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #ISEYA #OgunState #DapoAbiodun #workerswelfare #MinimumWage
