At the beginning of December, Anthony Edwards said it felt to him like the Wolves were "waiting around for the playoffs" Asked Edwards today if it felt that way for most of the regular season. I don’t think AD realizes he’s not a valued asset anymore.
At some point he has to prove he can stay on the court or he’s simply dead weight. No title contender is going to risk investing in someone who’s been wholly unreliable to play on a given night.
A year with a Wizards team who have enough pieces to make the playoffs is quite literally a chance for him to raise his stock again.

There’s widespread belief that Anthony Davis will request a trade from the Wizards after never playing a single game for them. Davis wants to be on an immediate title-contending roster, which Washington isn’t. Davis was blindsided at the trade deadline being sent to Washington.

@DaneMooreNBA @NBABlackburn About a month ago, narrative was the wolves have inside track to the 3 seed and for Denver “something just feels off”
Since then, Ant got hurt, Jaden got hurt…combined with Denver going on a win streak. Just saying, I think the gap is less than people are making it out to be.

Denver has the best offense in the NBA. If they can get to a shot, they're gonna score at a high clip.
So what's the solution? @NBABlackburn describes it's about stopping them from playing offense. Need to force turnovers.
And we know the best version of the Wolves is a team that's harassing on defense, forcing turnovers and getting out to run.

@KeithSmithNBA The holes I would poke in his current game are all related to technique and knowing when it’s smart to be aggressive vs when hes being overly aggressive to his detriment

It's been small flashes since Summer League, and two really nice games to end the season, but the Wolves have something in Joan Beringer. I think he becomes a guy they can't keep off the floor next season.

@allthingsmn Its tough, they meed randle on Jokic and Rudy to roam, but he can’t roam off Gordon anymore. I think they need to keep Jaden on gordon all series. If he can roam off Johnson or Braun that’d be their best defensive alignment

Fully expect Denver to throw doubles at Ant the entire series because of how much more worthless Rudy has become offensively.
I think the Wolves’ best bet in this matchup might just be leaning 100% into offense and letting Randle or maybe even Ant guard Joker. They’re going to have too tough a time putting up points with Rudy out there and Denver’s gonna score whether Rudy’s out there or not.
I think the Wolves would be wise to play guys that’ll take advantage of Denver’s slow feet on both ends.
