@KippaxKids @Michael70872481 Story is that City gave United their old red away kit. Here is Billy Meredith wearing a red away kit in 1924 at Brighton (MEN). Collar is knackered, fade lines on each shoulder. If United later took this one, it must have been in rags. My grandad b 1909 called them a "rag team".

You know nothing of the history of your club, when and why they got that nickname. You've embarrassed yourself. Let me school you. During the 1920s-1930s United faced severe bankruptcy and low attendance. Legend has it they were so poor they had to wear tatty, second-hand kits that resembled rags. Some accounts suggest United fans actually started using the term for themselves first, which City fans then "nicked".

It's actually becoming irritating now, tens of thousands of rags pretending they give a shit about a youth team they don't give a shit about at any other time because it's an excuse to moan about City. It's embarrassing what has become of them.

Can’t understand why City not agreed to FA Youth Cup final being moved to Old Trafford with club ruling out Etihad in race to ready North Stand Ask those #MCFC U18 players if they’d prefer to play in front of 70,000 or 7,000 What an opportunity missed telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

City have shit the bed here, as any true mancunian who knows the score knew they would. The truth about who owns Manchester would have come out if this game had been played in the main stadium and #mcfc only know this too well. All that money, all those trophies, but no glory
Andy Mitten@AndyMitten

You’ve got the best two youth teams in England meeting in the FA Youth Cup final. The idea that it’s played in a 6,000 capacity stadium at MCFC is such a shame. 60,000 would watch this game if it was done right.

@metatrader_john @AndyMitten Yeah, United reknown for large FA Youth Cup crowds against City. Stretford End was empty in the 1st leg of 1986 final and 1st leg of 1980 SF.

@AndyMitten They didn't want 500 showing up to support their youth team with 10's of thousands of reds! This way they get control optics. That's exactly what it is. They can't fill out their allocation for the FA Semi with the senior team 🤣

Princess Elizabeth watches an indoor match between Lord's Taverners and Rest of the World at London's Grosvenor House, Bill Edrich playing a shot to leg. Over 1200 watched the game which raised money for the National Playing Fields Association, April 30th 1951. It was televised live on the BBC for 20 minutes from 10.20pm

right, suspicions confirmed this morning after the short-lived joy of City's price freezes just 4 days ago: the Club are emailing seasonticket holders today and forcibly downgrading them to "flexi seasontickets", despite widely acknowledging they'd cocked up ticket transfers!

@nik0_mcr the rules are explained at the start of the season as to how many games you can miss, if you can’t follow the rules don’t have a season ticket. I’ve had no problem with mine this season. Also, 7 games out of 19 is absolutely appauling he should’ve only had a flexi in first place.

@nik0_mcr It matters that lots of people would take that season ticket and use for far more than 7 games . We were all given the rules .

A million seconds ago was April 14th. A billion seconds ago was 1994. A TRILLION seconds ago was 30,000 B.C. The US national debt grows by $1 Trillion every 150 days. The difference between a million and a billion is 31 years. The difference between a billion and a trillion is 31,000 YEARS. And the US national debt is growing by $1 TRILLION every 5 months. While you read this sentence, the debt grew by thousands of dollars. History is full of empires that borrowed too much and thought the math would never catch up. It always does.

Everyone was expecting the Palace game to be rescheduled for Wednesday 13th May and the Bournemouth game for Tuesday 19th May. Man City are trying to swap them over at Bournemouth’s and Palace’s expense.

I’ve heard that Man City is pushing the PL to reschedule its Palace and Bournemouth games in a way that advantages City… but screws both Palace and Bournemouth. Masters should tell them to f off. If he doesn’t, I think that says a lot 👀

@WG_RumblePants Everything about this photo is correct. No sponsors logos everywhere. No fireworks. No ‘diddly diddly’ trumpet every 5 minutes or the dreadful Fratellis song. Sleeves rolled up, collars up-turned, steely-eyes, spectators in flared trousers. This is what they want.

Small club. The smaller your fanbase, the smaller the set fans willing to travel and fork up the time and costs. The owners thought they’d manufacture millions of fans via financially doping their way to boringly winning every season but the demographic has remained in Stockport

The most successful team in England in the last ten years and there were 10,000 empty Man City seats at Wembley. And that’s after they gave some to Southampton! Embarrassing. #MNCSOT

@TheCityRamble That was a different era? We had a stadium that took 36,000. Today its 60% more with over 40,000 season ticket holders and 100,000 members. Football evolves and we have a much bigger fanbase despite the lack of trophies. What does that say about your shower of a club?

2003 Charity Shield in Cardiff. Arsenal sold 16k tickets from 24k allocation. Move Wembley 200 miles from London and none of the capital teams sell it out 20+ times in 10 seasons.
