Genuine question. Is there any alternative name to use instead of "British Isles"??? I dislike the name as well and always witness people complaining about it but haven't seen any others ever offered.

If we played another country and they deliberately insulted our national anthem, we would go nuts - and rightly so.

Ferrari has launched what will undoubtedly be one of the most divisive cars of a generation with the Luce, but @evosamj doesn’t think that’s the issue.

The British Isles don’t belong to Britain the same way the Irish Sea doesn’t belong to Ireland. It’s just a geographical name. The insecurity around it is off the charts.

Why are Brits pretending that labeling Ireland as part of the "British Isles" has no political implications? Why are they pretending to not understand why Irish people object to it?

Correct. The Irish are the ones who have a problem with the British Isles as a name for the region. The rest of the world doesn't and will, unfortunately for the Irish, still refer to it as the British Isles, Britse Eilanden, Britische Inseln, Wyspy Brytyjskie, Insulele Britanice or whatever linguistic variation is used. Wanting it changed on a global level is admirable, but I doubt we see such a widespread change in our lifetime.

@UpMyKilt_ I see you're still having trouble locating Scotland on the map.
