If you don't actively shape the life you desire each day, you'll eventually wake up to find that years have slipped by unnoticed.

@Neon_Jon_ @fluxtheorist Hahaha I’m honored. Ultimately I want to see more varied styles of animation and creative endeavors from all over the world be encouraged (with lots of $$$) to thrive.
English

@okasha @fluxtheorist Ok, you’ve convinced me, I agree w what you’re saying. I will award it one notch above mid to pretty-decent.
English

@Neon_Jon_ @fluxtheorist Lol won’t argue against that, but again I really like that it’s not trying to mirror anime at all. Plus the characters themselves are written so wonderfully that the style didn’t get in the way at all for me.
English

@okasha @fluxtheorist Common side effects seems like an interesting plot but the animation looks pretty uggers.
English

@Neon_Jon_ @fluxtheorist Yeah I guess for those same reason is why I’m so biased in favor of this effort. Western animation has been on the struggle bus for a while, so to see something like that also taking some creative risks felt refreshing. I think the “adult” content brought the try-hard vibe imho
English

@okasha @fluxtheorist I mean for what is coming out of Western media lately it wasn’t bad. I just thought it was overly try-hard with the attempt to be strange and alien to the point it seemed like the plot became showcasing their ideas for “wouldn’t this be crazy?”
I’ll take shonen-slop over that
English

@Neon_Jon_ @fluxtheorist I think that’s more because it was too violent for kids but too strange for most adults to commit to watching a cartoon for even with the sci-fi angle. In general though Common Side Effects feels a lot stronger.
English

@Neon_Jon_ @fluxtheorist So mid that they got HBO money for a brand new show after this one.

@_space_punk_ I rather enjoy this! Need to remind myself of this whenever I find myself slipping into the illusion of mundanity
English

>trying to figure out how to do things the mundane human way
>find human, ask if their method is mundane or magick
>he doesn't understand
>pull out illustrated diagram on what is mundane and what is magick
>he laughs and says ofc it's mundane we're humans
>he describes the mundane human way
>it's fucking magick
WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN LITERALLY EVERY TIME

@KIMDRXCULA @1thousandfaces_ Also to be clear, I don’t actually think it’s possible to move away from god, it’s more a metaphor of the mental and emotional experience of turning away from our higher power. And even then I’d argue both paths still lead to the same place eventually (lifetimes).
English

@KIMDRXCULA @1thousandfaces_ I’m speaking of the cuff from personal experience and present struggles. Though I think this is largely just “the path.” One glimmer of enlightenment (god is real) to begin the grand journey through the unknown abyss (now what do I do with that information?).
English

@JoeSchmoe395912 @1thousandfaces_ Bullshit. The problem with drug epiphanies is that you’re stuck with the uncertainty of whether it was profound or simply chemical. It took me chemical epiphanies to find real sober ones, both took me to the same place.

A REALLY interesting thing I discovered a few years ago is that people's range of what they're capable of doing expands WILDLY when you tell them to imitate a self that is not theirs instead of asking them to show you their own range lmao
Reb@soundrotator
If you try singing "ah" on the same pitch 5 different ways (imitate 5 different ppl) you'll find how much control you have over finessing ur sound. You have to set your array of sounds free in order to start to understand them.
