Reminder that the Spurs went 4-1 against OKC this season. They’re built to beat OKC.

@JonesOnTheNBA @AndrewDoutey Yes but it's the repeaters tax that teams are ducking which only kicks in if a team is over it 3 out of 4 years the 2nd apron only restricts team building not the cost

@okcukfan @AndrewDoutey These are the thresholds for next season. OKC’s payroll if they bring this team back minus Kenrich and adding their lottery pick will be $250 million next season

@AndrewDoutey I believe they are $25 million into second apron if they bring this team back before they account for this years first round pick. And the following year, Shai’s salary jumps from $40 million per to $60 million per. They’ll have to make choices.

Jokic fans will legit ignore Shai’s ATG regular seasons and act like Jokic still has the BITW title under the guise of Jokic being some inevitable playoff monster but it’s just not the reality at all

@MALowry24 @HPbasketball The nba doesn't care as much about messy early season basketball as viewership is lower due to football season and teams usually don't know how bad they are at the start.

@HPbasketball But you’re just incentivizing messy basketball early in the season. I have no faith in Silver to make good decisions here

the only proposal from the shams report I really like is freezing them. I don't mind restricting back to back top-4, but freezing them would actually mean teams could just get their badness out of the way and then March basketball would not be such a mess. Still a mess. but less of one

@Dankscop4r_420 @Playoffcity @HanaHoops Sureee a “foot injury” lmao and are the Jazz literally not doing the same ?? Why the hell should we be forced to try to win games when we’re sitting at 17 wins ready for a lottery spot? Why is it morally more correct to fake an injury and sit someone than what the Jazz did?

OKC is the last team to complain about tanking after the shit we saw them do
NBACentral@TheDunkCentral

OKC reportedly has concerns about Utah tanking and has been working through back channels to pressure the league into making the Jazz remain competitive, per @Tjonesonthenba If Utah’s pick falls outside the top 8, it will go to OKC. “It's Oklahoma City going through back channels to try to put pressure on the Jazz to play the season out in order for them to get the pick. That's what it is.” (Via hoopshype.com/story/sports/n…)

@SwipaCam @PranavSriraman Because his assists are weighted double as a center. Him and Luka could both average 10 assists jokic gets 10 bpm while luka gets 5. So no shit he leads it.

Jokic with a better DBPM than Wemby, Chet, and Giannis cause the metric bakes in assists

@NateDuncanNBA @MikeSmart1 @michaelthewei We were very clearly lacking that year the pick we got to facilitate the gafford trade grows in value and cason is better then lively. Mavs made short term moves that led to a finals but ultimately is going to stop there okc was looking long term.

Pretty remarkable that OKC facilitated the acquisition of Lively and Gafford, the 2 guys who are absolutely killing them in this series.

@lostbraincellz_ @DaigMuse @ShamsCharania Boston was paying repeaters tax the year they won the ring. The thunder haven't a single bit of tax not the same thing at all. Earliest we'd have to have a large bill is like 2030.

But that did not happen this week. SGA had that game on 3/15 Aside from that, Jokic had 40/13/9 and was a +6 in that loss My guess is if SGA was #1 last week, then both players sat all their games this week and now Jokic was #1, you would have a bit of a different stance
kian@okcukfan

@StoolGreenie Maybe crazy thought but losing to the worst team in the nba while sga had 48 against the pistons this may have factored in.

I'm going to be honest, it's a little confusing when both SGA/Jokic sat all their games this week, the Nuggets went 1-1 and OKC won by 33 that somehow the top of the MVP Ladder flipped compared to last week's list
NBACentral@TheDunkCentral

NBA.com’s updated MVP Ladder: 1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 2. Nikola Jokic 3. Giannis Antetokounmpo 4. Jayson Tatum 5. Donovan Mitchell 6. Stephen Curry 7. Cade Cunningham 8. LeBron James 9. Evan Mobley 10. Jalen Brunson

The Thunder finished with the No.1 seed in the toughest division in the toughest conference and added two top-four defensive EPM players neither of whom are offensive liabilities and both of whom address significant needs for the roster in a week.
