For over a decade, I've been a consistent supporter of @Sargon_of_Akkad and Carl as a man. Although, recently Carl has seen me as trolling or counter-signaling him and implied disloyalty. What I've tried to do as a fan is be more of a friend than a sycophant and this in my eyes is a higher form of loyalty. Only Christ knows my heart and I am a sinner but I believe my criticism has primarily come from caritas, fatherly love or the love of a brother in arms. Carl just put out an excellent video on Izzat. Where he showed that the Izzat (honor/prestige) system of inter-clan or inter-tribal politics leads to an abandonment of personal responsibility and an obfuscation of personal vice that is undesirable, anti-Western and unChristian. This is an excellent observation. Now I offer Carl the following challenge in charitas: please provide a coherent defense of how Izzat is not Carl Schmitt's friend-enemy distinction applied to the level of inter-tribal or inter-clan politics. I believe that if Carl is objective in his analysis he will see that Izzat is Carl Schmitt's theory in praxis. Hopefully he'll then see by adopting Carl Schmitt's friend-enemy distinction he risks abandoning the very soul of Britain he is attempting to save and that is what myself and @ConceptualJames have been attempting to warn him off.

@PStevesson You would think those replies would make him at least consider the type of audience he has cultivated.

All those reasons are why St George makes a great Patron Saint. Genoa is cool and has long links with England, Richard I and the Crusaders were based and Edward III was based and the rightful King of France.
Stephen Wensley@StephenWensley

@SimonMagus You choose St Cuthbert’s day of all days for this. The flag is from Genoa, English ships on the 1190 crusade flew it for safe passage, city of London adopted it, then English armies, it was used for Edward III’s new patron saint, but it wasn’t really a national flag until 1606

Queen Anne withheld the Royal Assent on the advice of her Ministers. Those who would drag the King into every disagreeable Bill, and denounce restraint as “crypto-republicanism”, seem not to grasp that the constitution works only because we do not contrive a crisis whenever Parliament passes an Act we dislike.
Dr. Calum Miller@DrCalumMiller

The claim that British monarchs "must" give royal assent to bills passed by Parliament is crypto-republican nonsense. Queen Anne did so in 1708. No constitutional crisis. No collapse of Parliament, democracy, or the country. Nothing substantive has changed since then. 🧵

I’m realising that there’s two types of political “horseshoe.” Restore are falling into the self defeating one. 1) Convergent agreement. The far left and the far right end up agreeing on specific issues like being anti establishment or anti globalism but through different reasoning. 2) Contrarian inversion. This is what you have below. My side is fake, weak, captured etc so I’m going to oppose whatever it believes. Or I’m so right wing I’m going to take on far left beliefs just to signal I’m not like normal right wingers. This is how you get Charlie Downes praising Muslim’s trad values. Or today Charlie agreed with Zach Polanski that Trump is committing ‘war crimes.’ This is not convergent agreement because he’s not opposing the war for different reasons but taking on the thinking of the left to oppose the war. I’ll break Godwin’s law here and say not even Hitler did this. Hitler wanted to win power and win over right wingers, you can’t do that by praising the left and telling people to vote Communist. Like Nick Fuentes telling people he’ll vote Democrat it’s pure attention grabbing in the right wing internal battle. Differentiating through inversion will get them status amongst political nerds but no one else. And it’s self-defeating. They won’t win over “trad Muslims.” They won’t win over Green voters. They won’t win over normal right-wingers, who aren’t about to flip everything they’ve ever believed in and become left-wing. The only people they might attract are highly cynical right-wingers who don’t campaign and may not even vote. Congrats. Here’s the attention you ordered.

Voting Green on May 7th. Distrusting Reform UK. Holding my horses on Restore for the greater good (no candidate is running in my division).

You can talk about Judeo-Christian values and exclude Islam because that's what we have done for over a millennium. Notice there is no third figure here. There is Ecclesia and Synagoga but no Mosqueia. It's not an Americanism is long standing historical tradition.

I can fully justify it. Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism both share roots in Temple Judaism (Christians see Christ having fulfilled OT prophecy etc etc) Islam is a 7th Century heresy of a heresy (Nestorianism) led by a false prophet.
George Spencer@HeracleanVision

Please explain how the set of "Judeo-Christian" does not also include Islam, which is equally part of the Abrahamic tradition. Britain's religious heritage is Protestant Christianity, for better or for worse. Stop importing nonsense Americanisms.

Oh stop whinging. The King is devout Christian who is tolerant of other faiths as Christ taught us to be. He is also Head of the 56 Commonwealth Nations where 40% to 50% follow Islam and His Majesty has just finished hosting a Muslim President of Nigeria at the request of the government. Why must you people whinge about the same thing year after year. Get over it and moan at politicians not The King.

Sandbrook is a materialist historian while Holland emphasises the role of ideas and beliefs. This is why the show is fun. Tom talks at length about trends in religion and philosophy. Dominic brings him 'down to earth' and reminds us of the impact of the washing machine, etc.

@Babygravy9 But what’s the alternative? Another politician? Another person willing to lie for my vote. I’d rather just have a king I don’t agree with than more politicians.

I fully believe Celine that we live in an age where everything must be dragged through the mud to see if it still shines. The British monarchy has dragged itself through the mud and, as much as I am a monarchist, I don’t see a future for it. There are no real reserves of tradition the monarchy can bring to bear in the titanic struggle to preserve Britain.
Pimlico Journal@PimlicoJournal

🚨NEW: The British right has begun to move away from a conservatism that naively venerates our long-rotten institutions, recognising the need for radicalism. As we re-examine our loyalties, we should not let the monarchy escape scrutiny. READ: pimlicojournal.co.uk/p/abolish-the-…
