@BoundaryBreak @kiwitalkz They would have to tesselate the space instead of treating things as bubbles. It's a fancier way of "baking in" harsh lighting for certain areas. AI rendering is already going that direction, but the tooling isn't quite there yet.

@jeremyphoward Why not just have it by directory? Is it a bloat on disk thing? I just bite the bullet and always assume I have to bootstrap the universe in order to bake an apple pie.

I'm interested in trying out moving from conda to uv, but this is one constraint that currently I'm not sure how to manage. uv envs are tied to a directory, so I'm not sure how to switch to a different CUDA/python without having a separate dir per project per CUDA/python combo.

For folks that don't use conda, how do you debug problems that only occur on some particular Python or CUDA version? With conda, I have a few envs set up with various python and CUDA versions, so I just activate one and get to work. With something like uv, what do you do?

Folks always sneer dismissively whenever life gives them lemons, and I always think to myself that we actually crossbred the fruit ourselves using bitter oranges and citron so it's kind of our own fault, really.

I'm not actually bothered with the slight. I'm mainly bothered that some people just suck so very much.

I spent quite a lot of time and energy building something and releasing it for free as open source software. Someone posted a link to it on reddit. This is how some guy on reddit decided to react to that. Do people forget there are humans behind things, or do they not care?
