Another update. Here’s an AI generated visual that communicates how the vois loop and router work to: 1. Qualify the design request. 2. Iterate on the design execution. 3. Validate the execution and review for content writing improvements. 4. Communicate key design decisions made based on human interaction guidelines and cognitive science principles. Human in the loop to add context when necessary and weigh in on tradeoffs.

Travis is an apex predator put on ice in 2017 and only recently reactivated from cryogenic slumber. Standards for male behavior have moved so far that he's actively perplexed by it. Our current ecology was last home to performative frat bros nearly a decade ago. So when Travis tells TBPN he jet skis to work, and Jordi + John ask whether he does his best thinking on the jet ski, he pauses. You can visibly see him get confused, with an expression like "What the fuck are you guys talking about?" Then he quite literally voices his frustration: "No guys...it's a fucking notch on the belt. Who else do you know who jet skis to work? Nobody. I'm the guy." Even the literal technology brothers are incapable of fathoming a man who does things just for the bit. Travis in 2026 is like the T-rex from Jurassic Park 2 who finds himself in modern day San Diego being like, yo, what the FUCK is this place? I’m helping a client get setup so they can connect their stripe account to the platform we’ve built for them. I’ve set up an agentic workflow for him to help setup his skus, coupons etc. The best part is he can just prompt to get details from an agent, and doesn’t have to view a dashboard.

@thenanyu Anticipating second order effects is one part - which is what you’re describing. A bigger part lends itself from service design which is how does this fit in the lifecycle of a user (not just your product).

To me, systems thinking is part engineering, and part behavioral economics. If you build feature X, how is it likely to be used, misused, or abused? Will a user understand its purpose? What will they find lacking? How does it interact with other features and products?

So the thing I’ve become completely pilled on is that “the idea doesn’t matter, only execution does” is one of the stupidest things you can believe. The idea is so important that you should obsess about it forever, even after you have proof it’s good.

Fable 5 shows me that many problems are dead ends with no satisfactory solutions. I don’t really feel a need for smarter models anymore. Instead I am faced by the limits of intelligence itself. Infinite brute force shows us that many of our ideas are just bad. We are often stuck searching too narrowly when we need to step back and take a leap to richer soil. Many of our bottlenecks are more about human alignment than intellectual problem solving. Many problems are theoretically valuable to solve, but fundamentally unsolvable with intelligence. For instance, chaos theory shows us that infinite compute can’t predict the trajectory of a double pendulum, and that we will always suck at forecasting the weather. The value of models is saturating and we are learning that intelligence is overrated.

I checked my mailbox and every once in a while I’ll get a backbill like a $4 bill from Labcorp for blood tests to pay the difference for what insurance didn’t cover. So while I sorted through the mail I asked Claude Opus to build an iOS app that leveraged on device features like camera, visionkit, apple HealthKit, etc to help me organize and just keep medical records organized for the family. 3 hours later, it’s on my iPhone working and proving to be quite useful. This is nuts.
