@justdavenow89 @greencatherine Wife and I had the original vaccine here in NZ. Since then we've had a booster every 6 months or so. Had a mild dose of Covid in late '20. Nothing since. No side effects. Fit and healthy.

@DrCatharineY @MicrobiomDigest It's a shame access is so haphazard around the world. Access to Shingrix in NZ is free for one year following your 65th birthday, and for some immunocompromised individuals. However, it's over NZ$1200 for everyone else (btw $600 to $800 for the two doses).

Another win for vaccines: A new study finds that reactivation of the virus that causes shingles (VZV) is linked to higher dementia risk…and shingles vaccination cuts that risk by up to 35%. It suggests something extraordinary: dementia may have a modifiable viral trigger.
Eric Feigl-Ding@DrEricDing

🧠DEMENTIA PREVENTION—Almost everyone needs to go out now and get the shingles vaccine ASAP. Don’t wait until age 50 for standard eligibility—ask your doctor for singles vax. MULTIPLE large studies worldwide now show that shingles vaccine strongly prevents dementia onset. Do it.

@digitalmaverick Ditto. Many of us are still here, but have become silent for 'reasons'. Many others have deleted accounts or orphaned them. I agree it used to be far more 'vocal' @MsGHist

Every Tuesday night in the Stag's Head, Dublin, the bar fills up with ukulele players for one of the best jamming singalong sessions in the world. They'll even supply you with a ukulele if you fancy a craic at Psycho Killer by Talking Heads.

21 years ago I picked up the Panasonic M50 camcorder for the first time and thought I'd quite like to give that a go. 21 years later and I'm teaching journalism students how to use the Osmo Pocket 3 to produce social video content.

So my legend of a cousin Lorcan just realised he was kind of important to the creation of @foofighters @FooFightersUK He saw a video by Dave Grohl talking about why he got back to work after a visit to Ireland. Lorcan was out hitchhiking wearing his nirvana top when Dave stopped

By the way, no way am I leaving Twitter. This place is like a lovely pub, that got taken over by some soulless pub company and with a full on wazzock as a new landlord. But I was here first and I’m staying.

@TheCleanCarClub I'm going with... this never really happened. The image has been doing the rounds for a few years and is likely to continue to do so for several more. It's far too ambiguous to be an actual university entrance question

Chris Patten, the sort of intelligent, morally-driven Tory that was permanently ostracised under the Johnson clownshow, has committed another murder. He’s so angry he even swears twice. I could watch this all day. Absolutely superb, as always. 👏
