@maxbscott Im still waiting on anyone using the IFAB laws and PGMO guidance to explain why its so definitely a handball offence (including Howard webb).

@liamedwards1919 @terryflewers Yeah in the 0.05 of a second between it deflecting off his hip and hitting his arm he consciously decided to maneuver his arm to control the ball 🙄

PGMO have bottled it and set a dangerous standard here, which will see so many penalties be given for accidental handball. Shame on them for crumbling under peer pressure!

@Giggis_utd @terryflewers They absolutely do because of the nature of attacking and defending. Defenders can't score a bloody goal with their hand for their team from their own bloody penalty area can they 🤣

@terryflewers Rules are applied differently to defenders, so it won’t make any impact on giving away penalties

@ProfDrQliphoth @Lemonbriz Aww, angry boy 😆 That only applies if the player who arm has contacted then scored themselves, as per IFAB laws & PGMO guidance:

🚨🎙️Gary Neville on VAR call on Cunha’s goal from a possible Mbeumo handball “Honestly, that is ridiculous. The VAR has been clear: the player has handballed it. He looked it for three minutes and the referee has looked at it for another minute. I can't believe what I have just seen. 'That was handball. I don't know what to say!'

@tonythemanc PGMO guidance handbook dictates thats not a handball offence. We can argue the rules are wrong, but they are applied correctly by the ref here

OMG VAR tell the referee that the ball is controlled by his hand/arm & advices to disallow the goal , the ref over rules them & gives the goal , 100/100 (99/100) refs would give a hand ball , it’s a disgraceful decision

Alan Shearer: "Disgraceful. Shocking shocking shocking. That’s a CLEAR hand ball." Even the VAR thought it was handball. When will these refs face accountability? When will @PGMOL_FA sort this out? When will @premierleague say enough? #nffc

@J0NESY_Jones @henrywinter Its not googling, its reading the IFAB laws of the game and the PGMO guidance handbook. For the record, if that was against me id be raging, and in the spirt of the game I don't think that shouldn't be an offence - but under the current laws/guidance its not

@onlyeckles @henrywinter HE TRAPPED THE BALL BETWEEN ARM & BODY CONTROLLING THE BALL. If you don't see that as handball, it's you killing the game. When u know you know. You keep Googling & I'll keep seeing the game properly. Unfortunately I doubt you ever will.

How on earth is that accidental!! It’s handball by Mbeumo. VAR was trying to bring some justice to the initial decision, invites ref to think again, to check the monitor. Ref sticks with his earlier aberration. Bizarre. Nottingham Forest rightly furious. #MUNNFO

New footballing rules we have learned this weekend: When playing the establishment’s favourite teams, controlling the ball with your arm is not hand ball & being ahead of the ball when it’s played is not off side. Less favourite clubs, take note. #NFFC #HeartsFC @FA_PGMOL

Can't blame VAR there... 100% an error by the on-field referee. I can see why he thought it may have been accidentally (touches thigh first) but Mbeumo clearly pins the ball with his arm - that's deliberate handball. Another one for Webb to apologise for 😆 #MUNNFO

A goal was disallowed this year for a ball (supposedly) going out of bounds 20 seconds before it hit the back of the net, on the complete opposite side of the pitch Yet a clear handball 3 seconds and three yards before the “goal” does not lead to it being wiped? Confusing!
Josh Norris@JoshNorris

Actually outrageous for that goal to stand Ball is controlled in the box with an arm Yet, United given the goal There is zero consistency in decision making, match to match

@felicefan @SamanthaQuek Yep, gaz can say what he wants, but the laws of the game and the PGMO guidance don't agree with him & neither do I. I understand people thinking the law is wrong, and in the spirt of the game that 'should' be an handball offence. But under this seasons laws, it simply isn't.

@J0NESY_Jones @henrywinter Ref do the talk about a silhouette, pundits do who clearly, like you, don't know the laws of the game. Ive already shown you, but I'll show it again. The ball played off the player o to his own arm. No handball offence. Clear as day. You're welcome

@onlyeckles @henrywinter I'm talking about refs making decisions. They talk about the silhouette constantly. Let's make it simple for you. HE TRAPPED THE BALL BETWEEN ARM & BODY CONTROLLING THE BALL. So please tell me y it's not handball & where it says that.

@KarlBrown85 Except it’s not. He caught the ball, he pinned it against his body. He deliberately handled it. We can all see it. He gained an unfair advantage using a part of his body he’s not allowed to use. There is no world where it isn’t handball. The sport is broken.

I think, Mr Sailsbury, there were a few signs that shouldn’t have stood: 1) United knew and didn’t celebrate. 2) Your colleagues told you it was handball And the big one… 3) You watched him catch the ball on about 5 replays. He genuinely has to be investigated. #nffc

@onlyeckles @henrywinter You are literally proving you don't understand the laws. Away from his body is outside his silhouette. Which is mention. He literally pins the ball between arm n body & controls it. The rules have all been deliberately made subjective, which is y people like u do this.

@swellread @henrywinter Its unfortunate for forrest that the ball ended up being controlled when it struck the arm, but that doesnt factor into the laws or PGMO guidance.
