@NapoleonService How is your support site down on a Friday at 4:00pm. I have a case that is unresolved, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to reach your support staff. I was on hold for almost 1 hour this morning and no connection to a human. Case 02303675

@fringenancy @ChaseZaba @PierrePoilievre I know. How is it allowed, to have a general election, and when an MP loses the seat he had for 20 years, and then immediately, a re-elected MP resigns his $200,000 per year seat so that the loser MP can run again in a by-election costing taxpayers about $2M dollars? How?

@Scobleizer People are concerned with "changing" history, b/c they falsely believe that the history they were taught was "accurate". What we think is "history" is only a thin slice of historic reality. Sadly too many people don't care about reality, but want to keep the status quo.

Better mail than jail, my favorite sports writer at the San Jose Mercury News used to say. He would print columns with his hate mail. I got a lot today. See the comments or reshares of this post. But there is a bigger lesson here for the AI industry: mess with people’s reality and you will get major pushback. It is why I stay away from politics. Everyone has a different upbringing, culture, and way of seeing reality itself. My son’s classmate is blind. Can I ever expect him to “see” the world the way I do? No. There are some issues that trigger people on both sides. This is one. Should I have stayed away? No. Taking on the risks of being called an idiot is how I learn and hopefully more can learn how everyone looks at this issue. That said, so few know how to convince another human being they are right. Calling someone an idiot, or worse, never changes people’s minds. Believe me I tried that a few times in my life. Love!

Should we change history to include more people? I see many, including @elonmusk, who are decrying Google's latest AI which changes historical scenes and depictions to change white male people to others. It's almost like people are proud of our racist past, which included slavery. I want you to look at this photo. It is of the final completion of the transcontinental railroad. This event gave Leland Stanford the wealth to start Silicon Valley. But where are the people who actually built the railroad? Mostly Chinese crews built it. Where are they? Racist attitudes that existed at the time kept them out of the party, and out of the photo. The Chinese that built the railroad were no ordinary workers. They were explosive pioneers, true innovators. They set the record for most miles of track laid in one day. Maybe someone should take out the white people, who didn't build the railroad, and put the people who actually did build the railroad, in instead. See, I'm one of those "woke" people. If you study history you will see many such examples where white people made the history to only include them. So now if AI goes too far the other way and makes scenes and history include others don't expect me to join in your crying. If it makes you feel better about yourself, go ahead and call me "woke." But photos and other historical accounts/documents have often been lies that reflect racist attitudes. If you are gonna get mad about Google, well, then, you should be mad about this. But the "anti-woke" crowd is not. Which tells me all I need to know.

Israeli Occupation Forces carried out yet another violent raid on al-Aqsa Mosque compound tonight, spraying Palestinian worshippers with rubber bullets, tear gas and flash bang grenades.

I'm Jewish. I'm a New Yorker. But I'm also a member of the many Jews who understand that what Israel is doing to the Palestinians is a genocide. We cannot let Andrew Yang get the Democratic nomination for NYC mayor. Never forget that #YangSupportsGenocide
Andrew Yang🧢⬆️🇺🇸@AndrewYang

I'm standing with the people of Israel who are coming under bombardment attacks, and condemn the Hamas terrorists. The people of NYC will always stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel who face down terrorism and persevere.

@simplybastow @ashleymarinep A mentor told me (ages ago) that the best businesses come from those that are often most constrained b/c it forces them to make good decisions. Businesses with LOTS of capital etc. don't do that, so often fail. He was in the publishing business but it applies broadly IMHO.

@ashleymarinep Yes, indeed! I bet it's why so many winning companies come out of times of crisis - if you're forced to buckle down and get results with very little, it's excellent practice for what's to come.

Someone just asked me: With what is happening in the world right now with Covid-19, what would you say is most important for product teams/businesses right now? I figured I'd share my answer here so we can compare notes.

@jowyang @AP Was actually thinking about this yesterday. We go to a drive-in north of the city once a year. Little summertime tradition. Could be an option for socially distant movie screening.

@sjohnson717 I think, honestly, it is not restricted to America in any way. Sadly a very common action in soooo many places, contexts etc.

Dinner conversation: I wonder how long it'll be until Covid related themes start hitting our TV shows and movies. Probably some mad script (re)writing happening right now. Let's hear some title ideas 👇

@simplybastow Better get used to reruns for a while. Production has stopped and will likely not resume at all this year. Saw a tweet that BBC was looking for short scripts on my people in isolation/containment. Who’d want to watch that?
