Water modelling is a tool to understand and predict water system behaviour, but it is a male-dominated field. ICIMOD and the Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation (@CSIRO) have set out to increase the domain’s sensitivity not just to #gender, but also disability and social inclusion, developing a toolkit of guidance, examples, tips and training material to ensure #GEDSI is incorporated in #WaterModelling decision-making and practice. A two-day workshop with professionals in the water sector sought to build empathy, understanding, and the commitment to address bias, paving the way for more inclusive and equitable approaches to water management in the region.
