@WaifuWitchcraft @PirateSoftware You really let one moment in a video game live so rent free in your head even after all this time. Must be so sad clinging to the past like that.

Done with Crimson Desert for the time being until some updates go through. I really enjoyed the overall world setting and how much reward there was for exploring. Tons of secret areas and little bonuses all over the place. It really does feel great to find little caves hidden in rock walls or a chest with some wild item in a basement hidden in a hut. Bosses feel a bit weird where I was just bursting damage, getting smacked, then eating food mid-battle Skyrim Wheel of Cheese style. On some encounters full-screen tutorials popped up in the middle of the fight that really broke the flow of the game. I ended up beating Matthias, Hornsplitter, Reed Devil, Tenebrum, Kearush, and Excavatron. The controls directly led to me putting the game down for now. Multiple actions on the same input on controller make it feel like a rage game at times. For instance on the left joystick alone you have movement, crouch, and hook shot. This means if you accidentally press too hard in the middle of intense combat you hook-shot worthlessly into the ground. There doesn't seem to be a need for this at all. Really hoping they add native controller remapping so this isn't an issue anymore. The story felt weird as hell to me at first but then it clicked about 10 hours in. I approached this game as an Open World RPG but it feels more akin to an Open World Exploration game like No Mans Sky. When I made that connection my objectives and interactions felt like they made a ton more sense and the game felt better overall. I think this is more an issue of perception than it is anything wrong with the game. For the price I would say that no game is worth $70 regardless of how amazing or prestigious it is. Games need to be affordable and with the amount of economic turmoil right now prices in excess of $60 USD don't make a lot of sense. This directly prices out many people in countries like Australia, Brazil, Poland, New Zealand, and Canada at the same time due to currency conversion rates. Most of my viewers were saying they refuse to buy it until it's on sale as a result. Overall I think the game is enjoyable and has a ton of potential. Little rough around the edges right now but nothing that can't be fixed with time and feedback. Regardless of how I feel I hope you are enjoying the game and it continues to improve with time.

@WaifuWitchcraft @AI_EmeraldApple Imagine needing to overcomplicate simple controls, thinking you've accomplished something. Next you're gonna say "you should be able to play a piano chord with a keyboard and 2 controllers then spin around in your chair to pet a dog" You are a retard.

My first impression so far... Crimson Desert is a VASTLY complex game that is a deep dive... a true single-player sandbox game that most modern players are not used to. So far, the main issue many people have with Crimson Desert is that it doesn't include the typical "hand-holding" common in most Western AAA games. It has barely any tutorials and no spoon-fed mechanics, leading to the overwhelming, confusing, and obtuse complaints coming from many players. For most things, you are left to "figure it out on your own", and for many players like me who love the complexity, that's the beauty of it. For me, I HATE tutorials. I hate game "onboarding". I want to just dive in and explore the world and figure out the mechanics as I go along. The other issue is the story. The story is mid, but for the game, the story is just there as a backdrop, not as the main focus of the game. The real "plot" is whatever adventure you, as a player, go on... not some linear track story common with pretty much every other western AAA game. For me so far... the beauty is in the discovery, the “oh shit, that’s how it works” moments, hours of exploration and experimentation. That is where the friction is so far. Complex controls, complex combos, Inventory where you can't loot everything you want, convoluted crafting system, a quest line that doesn't hand-hold, no theme park, no linear narrative epic, and a world where a rabbit hole deep dive is the point. This isn't a game like Elden Ring where its hard but simple, or other open-world games where mechanics are spelled out for you. It really feels like an old-school sandbox with a 2026 open-world glowup.

feeling so nerfed… I can only generate 1 or 2 videos with Seedance 2 per day, while I see some Chinese creators making full movies with it but at least I still have this cel-shaded animation in reserve

"creator coalition" with the goal of "safeguarding humanity in the creative process" from the industry that brought you focus-grouped sequels, diversity consultants, and whatever the fuck that snow white remake is these are actors who haven't made a genuine piece of art in more than two decades. they've been too busy using their platforms to lecture you about politics between marvel paydays and now they're terrified because AI threatens the capital barrier that kept you from making your own (good) stories. suddenly anyone with a vision can compete with a studio. suddenly talent matters more than budget if people can make real art again, they'll remember what it looks like. and that's the actual threat

Today, we’re announcing a new organization called the Creators Coalition on AI. All creators are facing the same threat from the unethical business practices a lot of the big AI companies are guilty of. Sign up and show your support: creatorscoalitionai.com

If this is your takeaway from last night, I unfortunately must inform you that you need to work on your media literacy and how you choose to consume art and storytelling.

100% He didn’t give up until he had no choice to If Superman had it his way, he’d die on his sword. But it was so poetic that John Cena’s last lesson in the ring was that life doesn’t always go your way and you have to be okay with failure. #ThankYouCena

@KamitronPTW I don't know much about wrestling. Would you consider that a satisfying ending for Cena's story?
