A great sign of our times is that Mary Oliver's "tell me what it is you plan to do with your one wild & precious life?" is often quoted as a form of pressure to do some grand thing, when the grand thing Oliver did in her poem is watch grasshoppers, & something akin to prayer.

A Christianity rooted in patriarchy will always define women first and foremost by their relationship to men. A Christianity rooted in the gospel of Jesus will see women first and foremost as human beings created in God’s image. May we understand the difference.
