Lime scooters have arrived in the City of Vancouver!
Today, I was fortunate to join members of Council and representatives from Lime to celebrate the launch.
These scooters will play an important role in Vancouver's transportation network, providing another safe and fun option to get around our city.
Thank you to the team at @lime and thank you to the team at @citrushairsalon for hosting us today!
Today, the Province informed us of their intention to transition supportive housing out of the Granville Entertainment District and into safer, more dignified homes with proper wraparound supports.
This is about two things: making sure the most vulnerable members of our community get the help they need and supporting local businesses like Aura, who've been directly impacted for far too long.
This move is a step in the right direction and it didn't happen by chance. Thank you to @PeterMeiszner for pushing for a faster timeline through his recent amendment, and to @LisaDominato and @sarahkirby_yung for their years of advocacy.
We welcome this news and will hold the Province to account every step of the way to ensure this change comes quickly.
@theday Someone else who attended said there were appropriate barricades and didn’t know how vehicle could have entered. Maybe things were getting moved for teardown?
I was at the Filipino Lapu Lapu festival in Vancouver and left about 30 minutes before the attack took place. The barriers to the road were simple construction signs.
At New West Pride they use Police cars and dump trucks to block the roads.
Such a tragic event.
@DanEricRohde By “investors”, do you mean all purchasers of Bitcoin? Beneficiaries are especially those of lower socio-economic class, outside of the 1%.
OK, let's just be sensible. There are actually quite good reasons for the Treasury to make like Canada and sell off much of its gold stock. But purchasing bitcoin with those revenues would serve no purpose other than to enrich bitcoin investors.
