Weird how yellow tail is probably the most universally liked fish but restaurants stick to salmon shrimp and scallops Only really find it at sushi spots

For a couple of years while I exhausted my reserve supply I've been searching. Hate to admit it, but I'm late to the party have fallen for Bombas. Just ordered a decades worth. They are fantastic. Please don't change. 🙏

I've only worn ~5 different brands of socks my whole life. I pick a style and it usually lasts 10 years until it vanishes from the market or gets reformulated by private equity. My current made-in-america family-owned brand got "value engineered" by a PE investment...cont'd.

Critical thinking is going to be the world‘s rarest resource in the years ahead. Most people never learned to do it in the first place and half of the ones that know how don’t do it now. Most of the rest are rapidly offboarding this function to AI as we speak.

My 20yo(!) Google account was disabled today because "it might have been created by a computer program or bot"... what in the world? Anyone work or know someone at @Google?

Spent all last night on codex and Opus, needless to say, the world is going to be extremely lopsided. The productivity gains for anyone talented is enormous. Don't even think customer service is safe at this point, maybe only a year away from removal

California state law required that we install solar panels on the ADUs, and now our insurance is cancelling our policy due to them. It’s p cool. 👍

Imagine being upset someone else bought a different car than you drive you have to make an entire post about it 🤣 Some of you Tesla folks are hilarious. Thanks for a good laugh.
Overly Trev@OverlyTrev

That’s an interesting choice 🤔 Kia EV6 Cost more Has less range Less storage space No self driving features like FSD The software is no where near as good Tesla app is much better Am I missing more? Model Y is just a superior vehicle overall imo.

@OutofSpecDetail is kia not factoring enough for their depreciation? 3768/yr is pretty great price but sounds like a pricing distortion thank anything else.

Long story short: I’m so glad I got this car right at the end of 2025! I traded in my last lease 6 months early as I knew 2026 would bring some steep lease prices! For context of lease prices: EV6 (Dec 2025) Lease 2 years 10k/yr $7536 or $3768/yr Model Y AWD (Jan 2026) Lease 2 years 10k/yr Y 2yr: $23577 or $11788/yr Model Y AWD (Jan 2026) Lease 3 years 10k/yr Y 3yr: $29759 or $9919/yr I made the right move!

@rjonesy I tried it. Not worth it over 1-2 gig fiber. The bottleneck becomes the service providers. Downloads start topping out because AWS isn’t goin any faster.

@ajrgd @rjonesy That helps somewhat but still leaves a significant chunk of storage used. Android handles clearing cache better.

Can anyone explain why there’s no “Clear Documents & Data” button? Reinstalling the app just to clear it is dumb.

After Brex I had decided I didn’t want to start another company. But I found my calling. I’m starting another fintech company that can change the world. I wasn’t looking to startup another startup but this one was impossible not to. The opportunity is too big. But the problem is very technically, operationally, regulatory and financially complex. So I’m looking for a founding CTO that is interested in coming in this adventure with me. It’ll be hard, it’ll take long, but it’ll be worth it. Signs you’re a good fit: - You're a technical dictator, not a facilitator. Consensus is cosplay for avoiding accountability. - You've built systems where bugs mean lawsuits, not rollbacks - You believe big engineering teams are a symptom of bad architecture and weak leadership - You're obsessed with ontologies and data models. You know most systems are rotten at the core because engineers treat modeling as boring. - You optimize your own taxes, loans, and entities like it's a competitive sport. You think most people leave money on the table because they're lazy. - You've optimized your LLM setup obsessively. Engineers who use ChatGPT with default settings are bringing a mass knife to a gunfight. - You think "speed vs. quality" is a cope for teams that are bad at both. - Makes fun of 9-to-5 engineers that rest-and-vest - You have an extremely high bar for talent and still aim to be the best engineer on your team. Not secretly. Openly. - You believe the PM role exists because most engineers are lazy about understanding the problem. The best engineers make PMs redundant. The role is in person. In the Bay Area. All-day every day. If you’re interested, send me an email at: henrique@brex.com (we don’t have a name yet!)
