Yay. The Brighton train is late at Finsbury Park (yay for me, not for its already on passengers) so for once @GNRailUK changing my Palmers Green train time to run 3 minutes later, hasn’t meant missing my connection here and I’ll catch the London Bridge one without trying to run

@TLRailUK @originalfoots Yes please, thanks. It’s the off peak XX02 XX32 @GNRailUK from Stevenage via Hertford line, arrives Finsbury XX23 / XX53 as the Brighton train departs Finsbury XX22 / XX52 then having to wait the 14 minutes for the next train towards KX or St Pancras which is the Horsham train

Well @TLRailUK your revised timetable from Palmers Green is finishing me off. Now the flipping Horsham train’s cancelled, so arrived at Finsbury Park just in time to miss the Brighton train via London Bridge, then the next train’s cancelled and 😭At least tomorrow I’ll be free 🎉

@TLRailUK Ah. Apologies. As I was pulling in to London Bridge I thought, ‘hold on a minute, Thameslink isn’t at fault here, Great Northern Railway is. That’s the service that has changed its timings meaning always missing the connection to London Bridge at Finsbury Park

@Stewie_32 @TLRailUK That’s what I did the other day. Thank you though. I question the logic of having the train to London Bridge pull out of Finsbury Park, just as the train from eg Stevenage pulls in. Logically you’d expect there to be passengers needing to get to key interchanges eg, London Bridge

@originalfoots @TLRailUK If your ticket/routing is valid, could you take a Tube or Train to Kings Cross and walk from there to St. Pancras? There are more frequent services to LBG from there and also trains direct Greenwich...

@TLRailUK why do you not link your trains up better at Finsbury Park? So frustrating. The one going north to south via Palmers Green arrives just in time to miss Brighton via London Bridge. Pretty obviously people getting off need to get to the major interchange at London Bridge

@TLRailUK Actually last time it got me to the same train as waiting for the Horsham train, admittedly not with the mad dash down the escalator at 4 and up the escalator at 1. A long but easy journey has been made painful. Lots of us used to jump from that train to the Brighton train at FP

Thanks for confirming. It may be slightly quicker to travel to Moorgate and change onto the Northern Line to London Bridge (depending on your ticketing option) and potentially catch an earlier Southeastern or Thameslink service however I do appreciate that isn't the most convenient option. We can certainly pass your comments on however regarding the timetable. ^Max

@TLRailUK I go to Greenwich (so if I’m fast I can run to Platform 1 if I wait for the Horsham train, it’s just a shame that a long, but sweet as a nut journey, has become a right pain.

@originalfoots What is your final destination on the Rainham service? If there are long waits for connections during the weekday, we may be able to raise this for review. ^Max

@TLRailUK I know about the Horsham train that’s the one there was a 50 minute wait for. It’s just frustrating that your changed timetable means just missing the Brighton connection thus just missing the Rainham connection. The Horsham train means legging it at London Bridge IF it’s on time

Good afternoon. If you are travelling towards London Bridge, there are Horsham services which seem to connect better to the arrival of trains from Palmers Green, often meaning a 10-15 minute wait instead. You can also connect to the Northern Line at Old Street and Moorgate for frequent connections into London Bridge. ^Max

@TLRailUK Various different times. The service used to be at 6 or 8 past the hour at Palmers Green or at 38 past, so you arrived at Finsbury Park just in time to catch the Brighton train arriving just in time for my London Bridge connection. The other evening it meant a 50 min wait at FP

Flipping Thameslink, why have you changed the train times from Palmers Green to be 3 mins later than it used to be? Now the train gets into Finsbury Park just in time to miss the Brighton connection via London Bridge. Flipping irritating.

@Sussex5525 Perhaps it’s also a supportive nod to the mother who organised the event she will be speaking at, and who recently miscarried.

@Morrisons I want to buy some stuff online for someone because I didn’t get it when I visited and realise now I’ve left what’s needed. I can’t find a way to pay online and also when I try to link my physical card it wants an activation code from a leaflet binned ages ago
