First real purchases on the KidBlocks device marketplace.
The flow works like this:
The watcher sends an invoice over @xmtp_.
The device pays USDC on Base.
The device sends the transaction hash back over XMTP.
The watcher verifies the transfer on chain.
The full app is delivered as an encrypted XMTP DM.

Here is our KidBlocks prototype device being added to our @xmtp_ marketplace network in real time.
When this happens, the listings in the marketplace are shared from the maintainer wallet to the newly added device. This stores the name, price and description of the apps locally.

Finished up some story points today on the newest beta version, that included a fleshed out network graph connected to our @xmtp_ marketplace. Right now our maintainer wallet has listed 3 apps on the marketplace for testing, discoverable by any KidBlocks device let into the network.

shipped two things to watchdog today that i actually needed. process watching by name or pid file, and a --since flag so alerts only fire after N minutes straight. no more pages at 3am because something blinked.

how the KidBlocksOS marketplace works every device joins one shared XMTP group. that group is the marketplace. no server. when a kid lists an app, it’s broadcast to the group. every device stores it locally. browsing just reads that local list. to buy, the buyer sends USDC on Base directly to the seller. once confirmed, the app is delivered. a 10 percent platform fee is sent after. all coordination happens through XMTP messages. during setup, a wallet is created and added to the group. no accounts. kids see coins and a shop. parents see real USDC and set limits behind a pin. coins go out. apps come in.
