To be clear: Putin will not meet Zelensky under the current circumstances. He has repeatedly stated that such a meeting would only be possible if there were well-prepared grounds, which in practice means Zelensky’s acceptance of Russia’s terms for ending the war. Trump may be eager to hand responsibility back to the Russian and Ukrainian leaders, believing he has already done as much as possible. For Putin, however, such a meeting would appear to be a pointless ambush. Another disappointment for Trump is therefore inevitable.

@OlgaBazova I am one. I was all with Ukraine until they rejected neutrality that would have prevented the war. Had Ukraine agreed to neutrality and Russia invaded anyway, I’d still be with Ukraine. It angers me that Zelensky and Co refused to be reasonable with Russia.
