@Helijah_ @samdokun Yet, some know that their church is licensed to issue the same certificate given at any Federal Registry but still insists on the civil/registry marriage despite getting the right counselling. It seems like a case of deliberate forgetfulness or being on a spell!

@samdokun Yes sir. What I'm saying is that not people that do civil wedding do it probably because their churches don't have the marriage licences. I know most of our churches have it so members don't have to go to the registry.

If many churches could give the marriage certificate, I think people would just do the white wedding and not the civil one. Most times, churches don't have the marriage licence so people go to the court to get joined and every other rite follows.
