Losing to Win I hope 1.46 miles/kwh to be enough to get on @RivianRoamer inefficient list this month. Anyone got a lower rate? It actually did very well for the 5° strong winds and quicker than average cooling battery.

@itskyleconner It’s wonderful. Grabbed one mainly for the temp control aspect, the battery is a wonderful plus (kept us cooking during the recent safety shutdown). Also have some fun diy solar going on at home (impulse is on the on-grid side of the house). Even charged battery off the Rivian

@MatthewCappucci We were driving through KC headed back to CO. After being in Colorado for 12 years I just thought of the temp drop as normal 😂

The cold front that plowed through the central U.S. is comparable to the most intense “blue northers” in history — like the November 11, 1911 one. Springfield, Mo. went from 80° to 40° in 10 minutes, hit 13°, and set a record high/low in same day.

Team big ass battery. 20” Toyo at iii EVs, 75-80 mph I-70 west in Kansas. ~20 degrees outside. Cabin about 68 or thereabouts. Getting effectively 170 mi of range on a 2023 gen 1 large pack 😬 Any chance Rivian wants to do the “real” (180 kWh) max pack someday?

@DomDoesMedia Probably lack of supply would be my guess. Also - outside Tesla - feels like the industry is moving towards LFP. And plenty of other companies selling new batteries for cheaper (signature solar rate for 14.3 kWh lfp w/ul listing and fire arrestors is currently 3500)

Need some insight... A Tesla Powerwall is 13.5 kWh and costs roughly $8k, right? What’s stopping companies from recycling used EV battery packs for home power storage? A 135 kWh Rivian pack would cost about the same, right? Yeah, I get the tech and ease of use from Tesla... but am I missing something?

@brandenflasch I’m still not quite used to the fact that I don’t need my keys 95% of the time (Tesla and/or Rivian exclusive since 2023). Still don’t have a dedicated use for the keys pocket

The same things go in specific pockets every single day - I own 10+ pairs of the same pants (and shorts with the same pockets) for this reason
