@zan2434 @eddiejiao_obj @drewocarr This is very cool, but how would we solve muscle memory and recognizable In patterns that we see over and over which make using websites and form easy because we know what to expect, what can be clicked and what will happen when we do, etc.

Imagine every pixel on your screen, streamed live directly from a model. No HTML, no layout engine, no code. Just exactly what you want to see. @eddiejiao_obj, @drewocarr and I built a prototype to see how this could actually work, and set out to make it real. We're calling it Flipbook. (1/5)

@J_Svenningsson Everything is fine up to t:=type{u:type,x:u}, a:=t(nat,3) where 'type' is defined as the first Grothendieck universe. But then b:=t(t,a) doesn't work. Type theory often deals with this via "typical ambiguity", but that works poorly across modules.

Doing comp sci research with Opus 4.6 Extended (here, in the context of an upcoming Verse programming language theory paper) is really a Flowers for Algernon moment. It's a superpower, like having a team of graduate students that can answer questions on demand on any topic.

@Omni_Mythical @PhysInHistory The actual bit we can't agree on at the moment are singularities. Mathematically they make perfect sense within General Relativity, but a lot of people, including myself, believe they most likely do not exist in reality because infinite density just breaks all kinds of things.

1. Event Horizon: Represented by the red circle, this boundary marks the region around a black hole beyond which no information or matter can escape to the outside universe. It defines the limits of the black hole’s influence. 2. Singularity: Denoted by the central blue dot, the singularity represents the theoretical point of infinite density and gravitational pull within the black hole. All matter and energy drawn into the black hole ultimately collapse into this point. 3. Time: Indicated by the upward arrow, it highlights that within the event horizon, time inexorably moves towards the singularity. Any object crossing the event horizon follows this arrow's direction, unable to avoid eventual collision with the singularity. 4. Space: Represented by the downward arrow, it signifies how, within the event horizon, spatial dimensions become distorted. Movement within this region is no longer free in the usual sense but is inevitably directed towards the singularity.

@jeremymarchant @pickover Correct. All finite strings will be typed by the monkeys. Including this conversation we are having, in all languages that exist now or will exist in the future. I was simply pointing out that your original answer "not necessarily" was incorrect.

@koeppelmann @miniapeur But can't you also then hold the left part with your other hand and cut the other weight (with your teeth maybe), then per your logic since the strength that we apply in our arm doesn't count, wouldn't it be 0?

@miniapeur Easiest way to intuitively understand why 100: if you hold the right rope under pressure with your hand - and then cut off the weight: nothing would change from the perspective of the spring. And now it’s easy to say 100.

@p_ample_mousse @pickover Well, the probability of *any* infinitely long string of characters being typed must also be be zero, because the string is infinitely long. So what?

@Blaufuchs4 @pickover Why doesn't it hold as long as it has a non-zero chance of hitting any key? Like even if he types A 99% of the time.

@pickover Well, thats the infinite monkey theorem. And there is a proof to it, so yes, its true :) There is an additional constraint tho - the monkey hits every key with the same probability. Without the constraint, it obviously doesnt hold.

@hanghuang_ @notiiivy Instead of "fixing" the image generation algorithm, if the LLM came up with its own way to generate a binary file (png) then it could actually make it transparent by itself, with no help from human devs. That may not be AGI but a significant step up nonetheless.

Robots move with “humanlike” style only because we train for it, not because the actuators can’t do more. Change the objective to time to goal + energy per distance with torque and slip constraints, you’ll see non human gaits and higher accelerations.
