@datnofact Technically it's mostly that the film picture has higher contrast, a little bit of bleed in some colors and the shadows are warm. In composition it shows a limit of high-fidelity and that is that we don't just look with our eyes, but our attention. Having less information is more

I don't have the artistic vocabulary to explain why the image on the right is better, but the way the shadows of the trees look, the saturation, and the water having a real weight to it makes such a difference, and the image looks so much less cluttered.
