Observing that Hinduism is a way of life, the Supreme Court on Wednesday said it is not necessary for a Hindu to mandatorily go to a temple or perform a ritual in order to remain a Hindu, and even lighting a lamp inside the house is enough to prove one's belief.
The observation of a nine-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant came while hearing petitions related to discrimination against women at religious places, including the Sabarimala temple in Kerala, and on the ambit of religious freedom practised by multiple faiths, including Dawoodi Bohras.
Justices B V Nagarathna, M M Sundresh, Ahsanuddin Amanullah, Aravind Kumar, Augustine George Masih, Prasanna B Varale, R Mahadevan and Joymalya Bagchi are also part of the nine-judge bench.

We chose to have an organic- traditional, 9-day #VivahSanskar for our only daughter, with every ritual performed strictly according to the Shastras. Only family and close friends were present no DJs, no event managers, no performative spectacle, no vulgar display of wealth.
We had 11 learned Brahmins to conduct the ceremonies vidhivat. Father figure Shri @RudraVS ji specially explained the meaning and sanctity of the #Saptapadi in both English.
We maintained the sanctity of the Sacred Vivah Samskars & set an example for traditional continuity.

While on this austerity drive, here is my outrageous idea. Do away with grand weddings (pre shoots, post shoots lehengas, everything). Just have the Shastraic rituals, daana for purohitas, Suvasinis and a meal for near and dear. Parents brought you up. They don't owe you a grand celebration. Save that money. Live the marriage well. Early parenthood also can be afforded then. Bring up kids well, throw yourself a grander "wedding ceremony" on Shashtipoorthi or the kids can throw you a grand ceremony on 70th (with as many photoshoots and indulgences as you want and can afford). Yeah age will dictate that you can't indulge beyond a point. And that's the whole bloody point.

Casteism has nothing to do with Sanathana Dharma.
Many are against casteism. In our family, we've proved by example.

you guys do not understand when I mean touch the idols, a priest who was serving as shastry for few hundred years, as a generational right, across india is there any major temple managed in such way by sudhras. is it the case? why those privileges given to certain communites. those old temples were built by the lower varna people under the king rule right?
