Wow.. @airindia is at it again. Definitely the biggest scoundrels and cheats. Constant lapses, criminal negligence, crash, safety issues. Today my band is travelling to Delhi for a concert. We had business class ticket from Bengaluru on the 9.55am flight. I just arrived at the airport and was told with ZERO intimation that the flight is cancelled and I am moved to the 10pm flight.. without any assurance. Staff is not at all helpful, and there is no answers, reasons or any scope of discussion. How is this constantly allowed to happen @airindia @DGCAIndia @tourismgoi @MoCA_GoI @BLRAirport @AirIndiaX

₹19,000 crore. That is what Banks collected in last 3 years just for not maintaining ‘Minimum Account Balance.’ Not from the rich. Not from big borrowers. From the poorest accounts in the system. Their crime? They didn’t have enough money. A farmer misses the minimum balance - Penalty. A pensioner withdraws money for medicine - Penalty. A daily wage worker falls short by a few hundred rupees - Penalty. The poor keep money in banks for safety. Not to be quietly fined for being poor. Financial inclusion should protect small savings, not punish small balances. In Parliament today I proposed ending minimum balance penalties so the banking system stops charging people for their poverty.

Indigo Stretch is quite a decent option for Singapore-Delhi, though inconsiderate co-passengers can undo even the best experience. Last night, even before take off, a young girl in the row ahead was watching something on her iPad at full volume. Her mother sat next to her, unfazed. I was in the last 150 pages of a gripping book - the kind you want to finish in one peaceful stretch. I had a plan - a spare pair of inexpensive headphones! I thought I’d lean forward after takeoff and say, “Excuse me, would you like to ask your daughter to use this?” Subtle! After take off, before I could make my move, the mother pulled out her own phone… and started a Hindi serial. Full volume. Now what? What if I proceed with my plan and she asks, “What about my earphones?” 😟 I resigned to my fate, put on my ear blockers and went back to my book. I’m still a few pages short, thanks to a steady background noise of saas-bahu drama and a youth influencer!

The Civil Aviation Ministry should issue a directive that if a passenger refuses to turn off the volume of his/her phone or personal device or to use EarPods/ headphones in an aircraft when requested by the crew they should end up on the no-fly list for three months
Sanjiv Kapoor@TheSanjivKapoor

Using earphones or turning the volume off when watching videos in public places like aircraft and airports must become a regulation globally, like no smoking on board. It is a scourge, particularly bad in some countries but spreading everywhere! 😞

Delhi airport security just gave me a 15-minute cultural audit. CRPF officer Pandey ji examines my boarding card, then produces a small box of orange powder from my purse. “Madam… yeh kya hai?” “Sindoora,” I say casually. He freezes. Reads my surname: Sadekar. Back to the box. Then: “Madam… pehli shaadi hai ya doosri?” I was furious by this point and nearly screamed: “Pehli.” His confusion deepens: “Par aap Marathi ho… phir sindoor?” I swear at this point I had nearly lost my patience but then I spent 15 minutes explaining to airport security that a Marathi woman can marry a UP man and still wear sindoor without violating the laws of North India. Pandey ji understood nothing but just stood and shook his head. Thank god he hadn’t seen my British passport. 😆 I may have accidentally disrupted the cultural order before breakfast. 🇮🇳

‘More FUN to sink ships!’ Donald Trump. Audience laughs! This is what the world’s most powerful man has reduced war to: a BIG BOSS reality entertainment show. And this is America, a country much of the world has admired for so long. GROTESQUE.

Important message to everyone citizens, residents, and visitors: When you hear warnings Message or sounds in the sky, please avoid posting your fear, concern, or frustration on social media (such as: “ What are these noises?” “They didn’t let us sleep,” etc.) What you write may feel like a personal reaction, but it can quickly become material used by hostile actors to claim they succeeded in creating fear or disruption That is exactly what they want A responsible and aware person shares only official information and keeps personal reactions offline That is not weakness it is awareness and responsibility Today, the digital space is a front line just like any other Sometimes, disciplined silence is also a form of strength
