AOC will be the 2028 Democrats presidential nominee. I’ve been saying this for 2 years. Gavin Newsom’s favorability among likely New Hampshire Democratic primary voters has fallen from 58% to 38% in just nine months, while his ballot support has dropped from 15% to 8%. Meanwhile, AOC now holds a +55 net favorability compared to Newsom’s +12. The progressive wing is consolidating behind AOC. Don’t forget that Bernie beat Hillary in 2016 but the Dens pushed Bernie out. That won’t work with AOC. Both Democrats and Republicans have a problem but they’re different problems. Democrats’ problem: They don’t know how to handle the DSA. They’re: • Younger • More energized • Louder • Better at simple messaging Their message is easy to understand: 1. Rich people are the problem. 2. Tax the rich. 3. A wealth tax will fix inequality. 4. Government can solve your affordability crisis. 5. The system isn’t fair. Newsom made the mistake of aligning himself with democratic socialists, but it backfired. He’s undeniably talented, but many voters struggle to identify what he truly stands for. Too often, it feels like he’ll change positions if it improves his chances of becoming president. Republicans problem: Affordability Affordability Affordability They need credible, easy to understand solutions to the affordability crisis. Wall Street is not Main Street. Don’t let the stock market convince you that most Americans are doing well. 80% of Americans don’t care how great NVIDIA, Anthropic, SpaceX and Palantir stock are doing. Housing affordability, rising costs, and economic opportunity are defining issues. People are delaying buying homes, getting married, and starting families because they simply can’t afford it. Socialism has a miserable history of failure, but telling people that alone isn’t enough. Many who feel they have little to lose will still be willing to give it a chance. Simply attacking socialism won’t win the argument. Offering a better solution and communicating it more effectively might. Whoever presents a real solution with a simple, compelling message will have a major advantage in the post Trump era. The political battles ahead are going to get 10x nastier than what we’ve seen so far. The biggest elephant in the room is leaving. It’s about to get nasty.

POTUS has a very small window of opportunity to act in the best interest of our country and still retain public support: pull our troops out of the region, walk away now, control the messaging like only he can and declare victory. This opportunity is fleeting—if he escalates or even stagnates as things stand now, we risk a mass casualty event, the Iranians & Houthis causing a major economic crisis, or worse: both.

We need to end the war now. Get our troops out of the region, restrain Israel, and focus on economic negotiations to open the SOH—and now the Bab Al Mandeb—or we will face a major energy crisis. Keep in mind that we could not militarily defeat the Houthis in 2025. We know we can’t militarily defeat Iran now. We will certainly not be able to defeat both of them simultaneously. The reality is that we will end up cutting deals at some point. We always do—remember how we exited Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. At this point, we know how this plays out. Let’s skip the decades of carnage & cut the deals now. Tune out the neocons & the Israeli lobby’s tired talking points about WMD—that was bait to get us into this mess. It worked, and look where we’re at: disastrous quagmire, no military solution, our troops in harm’s way all across the region. Iran currently controls two key energy chokepoints—SOH & BAM. We are better off accepting this and adapting strategically than we are fighting it and losing more. Pulling our troops out tips the scales of leverage in our favor. Withdraw and reengage diplomatically to resolve the issue in the region that directly impacts Americans: restoring the flow of oil. President Trump can still declare victory and restore trust with the American people if he has the courage to leave now, before a mass casualty event happens or an economic crisis hits. That’s why now is the best time to leave & quietly negotiate.

Joe Kent is my ex-husband’s best friend. He was in my wedding. If you had asked me 10 years ago I would’ve called him my friend too. But anyone who’s ever been divorced knows exactly how that works. When couples split up and the friends get divided there’s the little f and the big F and of course I was the little f with Joe. No hard feelings, that’s just the way it is. Joe Kent is a good man. A quintessential American man. He loves our country. And he loves our people; he served both of them with pride. For years anti-Americanism has been the litmus for authenticity in the struggle against Israel. I truly believe this was by design. Americans who loved their country but were appalled by our support for Israel’s apartheid state were routinely rebuffed or rebuked by the radical ideology that greeted them anytime they ventured into anti-Israel spaces. The choices for moderate to conservative normies were: 1. Ignore the Israel thing 2. Embrace the far-Left 3. Embrace the far-Right Most people simply opted for #1. But in the post-Oct 7 world something cracked and a middle road between 2 & 3 opened up. Over time it has drawn many new people to the cause. I’m sympathetic to the plight of both the people who have been fighting the good fight against Israel for decades and the ones who are just waking up to the problem. It’s probably bc in my own personal life I know both. And in a way I am both. Prior to Oct 7th I wasn’t honest with myself about the brutality of the Zionist regime and the role America has played in enabling it. It’s a hard, bitter pill to swallow. It has left me depressed, ashamed and hopeless at times. It’s something we all must grapple with eventually. But I don’t expect anyone to do it at first. So I guess what I’m trying to say is I completely agree with Syrian Girl, we all need to grant more grace. We must stand firmly against the unjust and never be afraid to speak against bad ideas and principles but we should be gracious too.
