I am happy to announce that our Ma-Mati-Manush government has delivered on its promise to all its employees and pensioners, and to lakhs of teachers and non-teaching staff of our educational institutions, as well as employees/ pensioners of our other grant-in-aid instititions like panchayats, municipal bodies, other local bodies etc. They will start receiving their ROPA 2009 DA arrears from March 2026 onwards as per the modalities detailed out in the Notifications issued by our Finance Department.

This is shameful and unprecedented. Everyone who believes in democracy and the empowerment of tribal communities is disheartened. The pain and anguish expressed by Rashtrapati Ji, who herself hails from a tribal community, has caused immense sadness in the minds of the people of India. The TMC Government of West Bengal has truly crossed all limits. Their administration is responsible for this insult to the President. It is equally unfortunate that a subject as important as Santal culture is treated so casually by the West Bengal Government. The office of the President is above politics and the sanctity of this office should always be respected. One hopes better sense prevails among the West Bengal Government and TMC.

প্রবীণ রাজনীতিবিদ মুকুল রায়ের সহসা প্রয়াণের সংবাদে বিচলিত ও মর্মাহত বোধ করছি। তিনি আমার দীর্ঘদিনের রাজনৈতিক সহকর্মী ছিলেন, বহু রাজনৈতিক সংগ্রামের সহযোদ্ধা ছিলেন। তাঁর বিদায়ের খবর আমাকে বেদনাহত করেছে। প্রয়াত মুকুল রায় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের প্রতিষ্ঠা-লগ্ন থেকে দলের জন্য প্রাণপাত করেছেন। তিনি কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী হয়েছিলেন, দলের সর্বস্তরে তাঁর গ্রহণযোগ্যতা ছিল। পরে তিনি ভিন্ন পথে যান, আবার ফিরেও আসেন। বাংলার রাজনীতিতে তাঁর অবদান এবং সাংগঠনিক দক্ষতার কথা ভোলার নয়। দলমত নির্বিশেষে তাঁর অভাব অনুভব করবে রাজনৈতিক মহল। এই অভিজ্ঞ নেতা ও সহকর্মীর পরিবার ও অনুরাগীদের প্রতি আমার আন্তরিক সমবেদনা জানাই। শুভ্রাংশুকে বলব, মন শক্ত করো: এই সংকটে আমরা তোমার সঙ্গে আছি।

Shame! Shame!

Shocked again! Yet again, our Prime Minister aggressively displays his cultural insensitivity to great figures of Bengal. Today is the janmatithi of Yugavatara (God's incarnation in our age) Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadeva. While trying to hail the great saint on this occasion, our PM added an unprecedented and improper prefix to the great saint's name, “Swami”! As is well known, Sri Ramakrishna was widely revered as Thakur (literally, God). While his ascetic disciples constituted the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission after their Master's demise, and those monks were then called “Swami” as per Indian traditions, the Master, the Acharya, himself continued to be referred to as Thakur. The prefix “Swami” was meant for his disciples in the Ramakrishna Order; but the holy trinity of the Order remained Thakur–Ma–Swamiji. Thakur is Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadeva, Ma is Ma Sarada, and Swamiji is Swami Vivekananda. I urge the Prime Minister kindly not to discover new prefixes and suffixes for the great Renaissance figures of Bengal who shaped modern India.

রাজবংশী সমাজের মহান পথপ্রদর্শক, রায়সাহেব ঠাকুর পঞ্চানন বর্মার জন্মবার্ষিকীতে এই প্রবাদপ্রতিম মনীষীকে জানাই আমার বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা ও প্রণাম। রাজবংশী সংস্কৃতির বিকাশ এবং ঠাকুর পঞ্চানন বর্মার স্মৃতিকে চিরস্মরণীয় করতে আমাদের সরকার দায়বদ্ধ। তাঁর সম্মানে আমরা অনেকগুলি পদক্ষেপ করেছি। আমরা কোচবিহারে পঞ্চানন বর্মা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছি এবং তাঁর জন্মস্থান খলিসামারির পুণ্যভূমিতে এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের দ্বিতীয় ক্যাম্পাস চালু করা হয়েছে। তাঁর বাসভবন সংস্কার করে আমরা ‘পঞ্চানন বর্মা সংগ্রহশালা ও গবেষণাকেন্দ্র’ নামে একটি মিউজিয়াম গড়ে তুলেছি এবং সেখানে তাঁর একটি পূর্ণাবয়ব মূর্তি স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। তাঁর জন্মতিথিকে আমরা রাজ্যে সরকারি ছুটি হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেছি। এ প্রসঙ্গে বলি, রাজবংশী ভাইবোনদের সামগ্রিক উন্নতির লক্ষে আমাদের সরকার নিরলস কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। কোচবিহারের ঐতিহ্যশালী ''নারায়ণী সেনা'র স্মরণে রাজ্য পুলিশে বিশেষ ‘নারায়ণী’ ব্যাটেলিয়ন গঠন করা হয়েছে। রাজবংশী ভাষাকে সরকারি ভাষার স্বীকৃতি দেওয়া হয়েছে। এর পাশাপাশি কামতাপুরী, সাঁওতালী, কুরুখ, কুড়মালী, নেপালী, হিন্দি, উর্দু, পাঞ্জাবী ও তেলুগু ভাষাকেও আমরা সরকারি মর্যাদা দিয়েছি। সাদরি ভাষার মানোন্নয়নেও আমাদের বিশেষ উদ্যোগ রয়েছে। রাজবংশী সমাজের কৃষ্টি রক্ষায় আমরা রাজবংশী ডেভেলপমেন্ট বোর্ড, রাজবংশী কালচারাল একাডেমি, রাজবংশী ভাষা একাডেমি এবং কামতাপুরী ভাষা একাডেমি গঠন করেছি। প্রায় ২০০টি রাজবংশী স্কুলকে সরকারি অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে। কোচ-রাজবংশী বীরত্বের প্রতীক বীর চিলারায়ের স্মরণে কোচবিহারের বাবুরহাটে তাঁর একটি ১৫ ফুট উঁচু ব্রোঞ্জ মূর্তি স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। তাঁর জন্মদিনে উত্তরবঙ্গে সরকারি ছুটি ঘোষণা করেছে আমাদের সরকার। কোচ-কামতাপুরী-রাজবংশী ঐতিহ্যের গুরুত্ব বিচার করে সমগ্র কোচবিহার শহরকে ‘হেরিটেজ সিটি’ হিসেবে মর্যাদা দেওয়া হয়েছে।

Election Commission of India is celebrating National Voters' Day today, and what a tragic farce that is! The Commission -- working as His Master's Voice-- is busy now in snatching away people's voting rights, and they have the temerity to celebrate Voters' Day! I am deeply distressed and disturbed by their conduct today. In stead of complying with the Hon'ble Supreme Court's verdict and working as per rules and norms to provide and protect the democratic voting rights of people, ECI is finding newer and newer pretexts in the name of logical discrepancy to harass the people and try to deny them and take away from them their electoral rights! On behalf of BJP, their Master, they are busy in bulldozing the Opposition and destroying the foundation of Indian democracy, and yet they have the guts to celebrate Voters' Day!! ECI, you are torturing people today in an unprecedented manner.More than 130 persons have died because of your tortures. Can you summon-- the way you are doing-- persons above 85, 90, 95 years of age, and even physically challenged persons to physically appear before you to prove their credentials? The stress caused by this kind of illegal pressure is leading to series of suicides and deaths, and yet you are continuing to do this at the behest of your political masters. You have made it NRC trial for citizens, including particularly those belonging to minorities, scheduled castes and tribes. Elections are festivals of democracy. But your partisan conduct and unilateral illegalities, dispatch of micro- observers to compound the harassment, your push to people to jaws of death have been destroying our democracy. Today, you have no right to celebrate the Voters' Day!

Despite a clear order from the SC and its own formal communication, the @ECISVEEP has failed to release and publish the list of LOGICAL DISCREPANCIES that it was mandated to publish by the 24th January- today in all Gram Panchayats and municipal wards. The same software that allegedly assessed and analysed over 7 crore enumeration forms and miraculously detected “logical discrepancies” within one hour on 16 December immediately after the draft rolls were published now seems to have lost its logic, speed, credibility and confidence. Three obvious questions therefore remains stark and unanswered: 1️⃣ WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ECI TRYING TO HIDE ? 2️⃣ If DISCREPANCIES could be identified in one hour, why does it take days to DISCLOSE them? 3️⃣ Is the @ECISVEEP looking for LOGIC or hiding the DISCREPANCIES?

When BJP’s propaganda ecosystem starts recycling four-month old notifications to whip up fake excitement and glorify the EC, it exposes just one truth : Mr. SIR’s strategy hasn’t JUST FAILED, it has COLLAPSED in full public view. Another crushing defeat for the BOHIRAGOTO BANGLA-BIRODHI ZAMINDARS. The Hon’ble Supreme Court today dismissed the Central Government’s plea challenging the Calcutta High Court’s order directing the resumption of MGNREGA in Bengal. This is a HISTORIC VICTORY for the people of Bengal, who refused to bow down before Delhi’s ARROGANCE and INJUSTICE. When they failed to defeat us politically, BJP weaponised deprivation. They imposed an ECONOMIC BLOCKADE on Bengal, snatching away the wages of the poor and punishing the people for standing by Maa, Mati, Manush. But Bengal does not yield. We promised to fight for every rightful rupee, every honest worker, every silenced voice.
