My latest column: Moving to SF, I thought getting a parking permit for my moving van would be simple. Nope. It takes at least 5 business days & costs $320 minimum. Naturally, I double-parked. SF needs to make it easier to follow the rules than break them. sfchronicle.com/opinion/articl…

What I liked about Pear X is that if you’re interested in building a really compelling business – there’s only ~10 companies per cohort, so there’s a lot of focus and detail put on you and your company. Definitely encourage folks to apply (reach out if I can answer any Qs)!

Corollary: While there is a concept of a person being passionate about X (e.g. hotels, parks, etc), the larger cause of change is there are simply passionate people (inclined to action) and dispassionate people

As you become an adult, you realize that things around you weren't just always there; people made them happen. But only recently have I started to internalize how much tenacity *everything* requires. That hotel, that park, that railway. The world is a museum of passion projects.
