@benjitaylor Patiently waiting for Meta to disrupt the design market with those $100M offers.

Happy to say that we've (@oxidecomputer) raised $100M for our Series B ... which was a wonderful excuse to work on this little featured blog header ASCII element. With text trimming, responsive text sizing and funky SDF coins

Exciting times! Proud to have played a small part with an amazing team.

🎉We raised $100M USD in our Series B financing. Thank you to USIT for leading this round, to our existing investors for their participation, and to our team, customers, and community for getting us to where we are today! oxide.computer/blog/our-100m-…

@0xOrkward At some point, you stop resisting the pain. You just keep pushing rows and columns.

My huge take on skeuomorphism was my concept design for Luminar for iPad.
All components look like they tell you what they doing before you start interacting with them. As a UX designer, I use a shortcut "users understand better what they already know from real life" and as a Visual designer I use familiarity, but still maintain a native iPad OS look. For interaction I use natural motion and we even developed sythesis for sound design (rotating a knob generate noise, faster you move — more noise it makes)
For sure, not all components are so literal, but my direction here is not to create a classic toolbox with sliders, but a toy box with different gadgets. Easy to remember, looks familiar and fun to play with.
The team did brilliant work to make it feel alive.
Go and try it by yourself on iPad, iPhone or Vision OS.

@lukaivnvc yeah the third one pops, might need to tone it down a bit so it plays nicer with the rest

@paryhin This is sick! How do you even approach designing ascii stuff? Do you start in figma or right in the code?
